Need snow tires.... recomendations?

I am to assume you have 2 sets of wheels?

It's the only way to go. I picked up a set of four barely used OEM 4Runner alloy wheels for $450 delivered.

This is my first winter driving this truck. I just moved from a Camry that I have had for years. I always had winter tires for that car it is amazing the difference in traction between winter tires and All season tires. One drive in the snow was all it took for me to purchase snow tires for the 4Runner.

I have had many brands of snow tires through all the cars I have owned. From cheap firestone winterforce tires on my civic, they worked, but they did not last.

Blizzacks on my Camry, WS-50's. Good tires, but wondered around the road on grooved concrete. Lasted forever! 5 Seasons and they still had over 3/4 tread on them.

General Altmax, or something like that on my Accord. Those worked well but really wore fast.

We has Michelin X-Ice2 on the Wife's Sienna. So far so good on those, 2 years now and still look like new. AWESOME on ice. Which is good as that is how they are advertised.

All in all winter tires are worth the $$ just by the simple fact it may keep you out of the ditch. Even one save from the ditch and they payed for themselves.
