I'm looking to lock the rear end in my v6 4th gen. I've done 1 Aussie locker and 2 e locker retrofits in my previous trucks and they all went well. Since I am in Canada and our dollar has plummeted I am looking for a cheaper alternative to the arb.
A little info on the truck and how I use it: I'm currently running 32" (255/75/17) tires with full armor ,sleeping platform, fridge etc. ( so i'm loaded) .I use it a lot on the highway and also every other weekend in the bush. I am happy with the trucks power however a little bump without sacrificing highway manners would be appreciated.
This is the plan.
Use the front clamshell from an 05+ Tacoma with the 4.10 and retrofit a 1st gen 95-03 Tacoma 4.10 e locked 3rd member.
Anyone see a problem fitting the older 3rd from the tacoma into my 4th gen 4runner? From what I have read, many have swapped fj e lockers into the older trucks so why wouldn't it work in reverse?
No I do not want to go 4.56 or 4.88. I know the change to 4.10 is minimal. Thanks
