need tires yokahama Vs Bridgestone?

Im needing new tires for my 2011 , it has bridgestone ht on in now.

I found Yokahama geolander HT's for $ 537.60
Yokahama Geolander AT $ 698.50
Bridgestone Duelers HT $ 786.00

im not sure the HT is an aggressive enough tire? Im also concerned with the looks of the HT, its hard to find a good pic online.

any recommendations would be great. My wife drives it when it snows but mostly highway miles. Thanks

Just replaced mine with Bridgestone dueler A/T Revo 2's, they are fantastic tires in snow/sleet (like we have today in Boise!), and they are pretty quiet for an a/t tire.

This is my 4th, maybe 5th set of dueler a/t tires, been using them on my truck and old 4 runner for the past 25+ years!

I found the A/T Revo 2's on tirerack.com for right around 700 bucks, and it was 50 bucks to have the local shop mount and balance them. They even bought the other tires back from me, as they were almost new (piles of crap Big O a/t's), so I got 200 bucks back from them!

One other thing about the dueler a/t's, I had a 33" set for my truck for 7 years! They musta had at least 30,000 miles on them, and they still had a little tread left when I sold them and the rims a year ago! Not bad, considering I left them outside on the side of the house through several winters in Oregon!

FWIW, I found the Geolander ATS to be among the worst tires I've ever had in snow and ice. I live in Utah and spend a lot of time in Montana - so I drive a fair bit of my year in snow and ice. I don't know how the HT's compare, but if you go for the Yokahamas I'd spend the extra $ to get them siped. It makes a big difference for tires with harder rubber compounds.

I had a set of dueler HT's also - after about a month I took them in and had them siped. Much better on the snow/ice. They didn't last all that long though. IMO they were no quieter than the wrangler ATS and had a shorter lifespan with less traction.

I've had two sets of Goodyear Wrangler ATS and they are my favorite all season tire that perform great on snow and ice, quiet on the highway, and still do pretty well in the dirt. And they wear great too. Plus they are pretty reasonably priced. - Edit: I just looked at prices. I paid around $150/tire a year or so ago. Looks like the price jumped a bunch. Not sure why.

Yesterday the west suburbs of Chicago got the first signifcant snow fall of the year. We have another 4"-7" expected tonight. While driving to IKEA yesterday with my wife, I mentioned that I was very impressed with the tires (Bridgestone Dueler HT) that came on our 4Runner. The tires are quiet, wear has been good, and gas mileage has been good too. The big concern on snow and ice is that 4X4 only gets you moving, not stopping. The tires grip better than they have any right too... While maybe not the best option if you off-road a lot, we would put another set on our 4Runner for sure.

Another big Revo II fan here.

I use them both on and off road and have absolutely no complaints. I commute about 90 mile round trip to work everyday, in all conditions.

I run the 265 LT's right now...but once they're done (I usually only keep them until about 40k, and sell them for $300) I'll be getting the 285's.

Been very happy with my Revos !! Have the coopers at3 on my 05 & have been very happy with them also so .....
