Needing broken instrument cluster

So I know this could go in the Classifieds WTB section, but I thought I might have better luck here. I am looking for a non-working gauge cluster 96-99 model. The main reason is to retrofit the diff lock wording into mine to have a totally OE look for my swap. Heck, I could even use just the black gauge overlay section that has that in it. I just need to dissect that section and implant it into mine. So, anyone have a broken spare laying around?

Go to a junkyard, strategically whack one with a rock, then take it to the front desk and ask to buy it. They'll all but give it to you.

Also, you need a 96-98, not 99. 99+ has the digital ODO and looks a bit different.

Unfortunately no "you pull" lots near me.
Also the 99 would work. I literally just need the section with the diff lock indicator.

My wife's '96 did not have the factory locker on it, she swapped one on. But her original cluster had the spot in the cluster for the locker indicator light. Just no wiring to it, no bulb in the socket. Her car was NOT prewired for a locker either, as I've heard some seem to be.

It's a manual car, though, that might make a difference. Maybe they didn't want to make two versions of a manual trans cluster, one with locker light, one without.

I have a 2wd, and have the spot on my gauge for a factory locker too.

96-99 all ad a spot for the locker, just not wired in. That is why I am looking for a busted cluster to pull just that small section to retrofit into my cluster

I don't have the cluster itself, but I might still have the little panels for the lights in the bin of extra parts from my '97 parts truck. I'd have to check next time I'm in the garage... If I do have them, they are yours!

That would be awesome sir!!! Please let me know!

I see you're retrofitting a locker into an 02. I'm planning on doing the same thing! Do you have your wiring all figured out? and do you plan on making a thread about it? I also want to try and keep the oem look for my swap and was sad to find out 01s and 02s didn't have the diff lock indicator in the cluster

I do have my wiring figured out on paper, and I will be doing a write-up in my build thread.
I could easily add a LED to indicate its locked, but I really want that OEM look. So hopefully I can make this idea that I have work and look decent.

I have a cluster from a '96 Limited with diff lock. It does work but someone must have fiddled with the odometer and the numbers don't line up evenly.

Non-working doesn't matter to me at all, just looking for a small piece of it.

Looks like I threw out those little panels in my last round of cleaning. Glad there is another guy with the parts!

I've got a cluster on the way to dissect. I am really hoping I can make my idea work. Time will tell soon as time allows me.
