How can you research the invoice price?
Back a few years back I was able to find detailed lists of all options and packages with the invoice and MSRP pricing, but I can't find that now. It may have been with my old Consumer Reports subscription which was allowed to lapse long ago. If you are a member they usually have the best info on things like this.
Go to your dealer's website and look up the exact vehicle you're interested in to get all the options and adds. Some sites let you view the actual window sticker. Alternately, go to
Toyota Inventory | New Toyota Inventory Search and see if you can find it.
Once you have this info, go to Consumer Reports (this site
usually has the best info if you are a member), Edmunds, Kelley Blue Book, or NADAGuides. Build the vehicle you're interested in and it will show you the associated prices.
Factory invoice on a base TRD Pro (no extra options) in my part of the country is $39,442 with an MSRP of $42,790. This was the NADA price... for some reason the KBB price was $20 higher. This price can go down through dealer or manufacturer incentives ("keep it wild", military discount, special financing, cash back, etc.), plus more if the dealer is willing to dip into the "dealer holdback" (very possible this time of year). It will go up after adding destination fees and taxes/registration
Edit: Found it. I was looking at the TRD Pro, which apparently doesn't have many options. At the NADAGuides site, pick the Make, year, model, then trim. If there are any options display that section and it will list the invoice and MSRP for each option. For example, adding a sliding rear cargo deck to a TRD Pro is $312 invoice, $350 MSRP. Lower trim levels will have many more options. After you add all your options it will give you the prices for the base vehicle plus the price with options. Still a long way from being able to simply print out a list of every available option with both prices, but it's better than going in with nothing. I confirmed this info is at both NADA and KBB.
