New 06' brakes squeaking during stopping...remedy?

Hello all! I have had my 06' Limited V8 now for a couple of weeks and am noticing a squeaking sound coming from my brakes. Now, the funny part is that it only happens at faster speeds when stopping and it only happens when I lightly press the pedal down (the sound is very high pitched and constant) and then will go away if I press harder on the brake pedal or come to a slower speed. Around town and slower driving, it doesnt squeak....but, on the highway or going above 35 mph it will make the sound. Its very annoying and I cant stand pressing my brakes hard and stopping very fast just so that I dont have to hear the high pitched annoyance. So, anyone ever have this problem? I hope I can take care of this without going to the stealer. Thanks

I had the same problem and the dealer never found any solution. They said it might be bad bedding. They wanted to replace the pads which I can do, so I decided to just get pads from Kragen (raybestos $55) and replaced it myself. No more squeaking

This is what I got from Kragen but I believe on the east coast Kragen is Advance Auto parts. Try looking for coupons at the store before buying.

if your truck is only a few weeks old, why go get aftermarket parts, when you can get it fix for free from your dealer?

It was not offered for free since they can't find any problem with the pads, they said there is still enough pads, they tried to some grease but it did not go away. Brought it back and they just offered a discounted replacement and labor which is still way too much comapred to doing it myself with the aftermarket pads. I also tried a different dealer but that dealer was not able to replicate it, they did not hear any. I got tired of the run around and did it myself.

that is what i call bad service, when i had problem with my rotors i got em replaced just like that.

I agree with above...go back to your dealership and get it fixed for FREE. This is a warranty problem, not yours.

The only remedy that I found was to have my front brake pads replaced. The dealer was non-helpful and actually told me to lockup the brakes on the freeway to dislodge the brake dust that might be causing the squeeking. I notice that service writer no longer works at the dealer.
