New 2014 Trail Owner--with questions

Just purchased a new Trail in gray metallic--now the fun begins.

Want had skid rails, and low profile cargo basket--is Shrockworks a good product, and what about the Ugat basket? Or is it better to get a better cargo basket that bolts into the rook and not the roof rails?

Finally, can you lift a 4Runner with KDSS?

In before the Thrashing! [MENTION=114134]Sundance[/MENTION] congrats on your purchase and welcome to the forum. You will find the search function here is your best friend, at least as a first pass.

I assume you mean Rock sliders and not running boards when you say skid rails, if thats the case there are lots of good option, again search is your friend Personally I went with Budbuilt bumpouts w/ treadplating and could not be happier. If you actually plan to use them I would discourage powdercoating or line-X due to the price and difficulty in touching up. Like others I painted mine with spray on bed liner and its proving to hold up well to foot traffic and on harder objects (the ground, rocks etc) no coating will hold up, but it is easy to touch up with a rattlecan job. If you go Rock Slider route make sure you get ones compatible with KDSS

Not framiliar with the low profile cargo baskets, I have seen somemembers here with baskets (vs the full roof rack) so maybe they will chime in.

Finally, you can lift a KDSS T4R with no issues, the system does make installation a but more "unfriendly" depdending on if you are doing a full swap (UCA, Coilovers, etc) - A spacer lift it may not matter.

Congrats on your purchase Sundance, and welcome to the forum.

I just picked up my metallic gray TEP in June, and I installed the Shrockworks sliders on my rig. I have the dimpled plates you mentioned. Install was fairly easy, if you search you'll find a couple of recent threads that cover installing these very sliders on a TE. I have some pix posted in their of my truck so you can get a better feel what they'll look like.

I went with White Knuckle Off Road Sliders and Gobi Stealth Roof Rack. I have KDSS and I'm planning to lift it soon with Radflo. Hope this help you. ;-)
