New 4Runner and new lift

So about 3 weeks ago my wife and I got her a new 4runner. We had a 2002 that had 212,000 miles and it was time to let it go. It was having a lot of minor issues and with our busy schedule it was going to the shop too much.

We purchased a 2010 SR5 with only 34,000 miles on it. It is a certified Toyota used so we have the full warranty on it. After reading on here for a couple weeks I decided to purchase a Toytec 2.5" spacer lift. I had the spacer lift installed with alignment last weekend and I couldn't be more pleased. It now sits level and the ride is perfect. Honestly I could not even tell at all that the ride was stiffer. Now I want some taller tires. Can I go taller with out going wider with stock wheels?

You can put 285/70/17 on the stock wheels. You will probably get some slight rubbing though and need to remove that piece of plastic that covers the body mount. You will also need to move the front plastic liner a bit too.

I have 285/70/27 duratracs on my 2011 black sr5. it really changes the look vs the stock tires.

Looks like we have the same taste in cars! I'm having that damn issue of the transmission not knowing what gear it wants to be in when shifting from 1st to 2nd when accelerating lightly. I just ordered a new Upgrade Governor Pressure Solenoid Kit that converts it to a GM style solenoid and a new transducer. I heard that will fix the problem. Having that and a double deep trans pan installed next weekend.

Yup, I did that same repair over the summer. Bough the filter / upgraded solenoid and transducer from amazon. Solved the problem!

Oh man I can not wait to get rid of that problem. I usually accelerate hard enough so it doesn't happen, but I know I'm wasting gas doing that.

Umm Did you just go with a factory style transducer or did you get the BD Upgraded Style Transducer?

I just went with the lemon transducer, but the upgraded solenoid. No complaints!
