New 4Runner finally here! Advice please

Hi all,

New to the forum but have been using it extensively over the last year while shopping for a new family vehicle. Needless to say, thanks to all senior members for keeping this forum alive an making it such a helpful resource.

Been waiting for my new mag grey 2015 Limited to arrive for over 6 weeks now and just got a message from dealer that it's here. This is my first SUV/truck. I have done my homework, went through a few test drives and know 4Runner is what I want and need.

I will be taking possession of the truck on Saturday and would like to know what to check for before I leave the dealership. Looking for feedback from some members who bought new.

Well, it's a new car so really just look it over inside and out really well. Make sure all the items you paid for are there and nothing additional was added. Not much else tbh. It should be fairly easy.

Are running boards and mud guards on the spec sheet? Manuals, floor mats, maintenance guides, wheel lock, wire harness.... Check for cosmetic damage. Everything else should be under warranty if anything comes up. Enjoy.

All vehicles are different no matter how many times a trim has been made. Take some time to get to know your ride after you get it. Few vehicles are made perfectly, it just might take a little bit of time to discover specifics about yours. After buying my 14 Trail brand new last year, I noticed a problem with the drivers side door. The door panel wasn't connected properly and now Toyota has to order a new part. Like previously mentioned, if it's brand new, take advantage of that warranty and don't let anything slip. Toyota 4Runner's are expensive vehicles, especially brand new. Make sure you have a zero tolerance for bs with the dealer if you find anything that might even seem a little wack. Good luck.
