new 4runner needs a boost

I just picked up a 04 4runner v6 and i was wanting toput some money into it. i was thinking about a volant cold air intake and i was wondering if you can notice the 17 extra horsepower it says you get?

are there any other things i can do to it to give me more horsepower for little money?

I just talked to burtman industries and they dont make a volant for a v6 so im outa luck,but i did just order a westin ultimate bull bar and a k&n intake. my first mods on any car ive ever owned with plenty more to come.

Yes, the Westin bull bar is a great addition for the 4th gen. T4R. I love the way it makes the truck look. It is on my wish list. Post some pictures once you have it installed. By the way, how much did you pay for it?

K&N intake is definitely next on my list..

V6=K&N 4.0L
V8=Volant 4.7L

I doubt you would get 17 horsepower with just an intake though just my opinion...

I was a little concerned about getting a K&N concidering how dusty everything gets where i live so i changed my order to a gibson stainless catback exhuast. ill try and do a write up when i install it.

yeah i definetly cant get 17 hp with an intake on my v6 but you might get close with a v8.

I recently put a Volant CAI on my 4.7 L 4Runner and I noticed a significant difference. I also ran true dual exhaust at the same time so i probably added 20-30 hp all at one time so that might be the reason I noticed a difference

I added the Volant and realized 17 AWHP, see signature. This was before tuning with the Split Second PSC.

AJ, you should pick up the PSC1-001 from URD and tune it on a dyno. I realized low end torque and peak HP gains by tuning with the intake/exhaust mods, as well as improved throttle response.

You can change out the k&n cone filter to an amsoil nanofiber filter for better filtration with the intakes performance benefits.
