New 4Runner Owner!!

Hey Everyone,

Just wanted to introduce myself. I just picked up a 2006 Sport Edition 4WD and lovin every minute I drive it.... I got a great deal on it, except it didn't have the double decker cargo system. Is it possible to purchase the system and install it at home? If so, Does anyone know where I can get one?.... any info would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Are you sure you want the DD? I'm currently trying to locate a 2008 SE without the DD. Go and look at one.
I would never use it. Plus it leaves a raised edge along the side toward the rear and at the rear door....I can just imagine small items constantly rolling down into these areas.

To answer your question, there too many special pieces to add the DD. The vehicle has to be ordered with it from the factory.

Welcome and hello. I have the DD system and wish I didn't. It's a neat concept but in real life it's not that great. I'd look at the off-roading gear section of this forum. Some of the guys have come up with pretty cool drawer systems.

Hah, the second i read that you wanted a double decker i was thinking to myself it was useless. Glad to see others think so too.

Before i got it, the salesman tried to play it off like something amazing. The ways he said it could be used was funny.

Thanks everyone for the knowledge!.... I think I'll save the $$ and not get the DD system.... I like some of the ideas I saw in the off road section for removable drawers.... Man, I can tell that this website is going to be addicting...

Nice! Thats Hott. And not sure if its something you'd like, but JA posted in the DIY Mod sticky thread about a cargo container you can make. It looks pretty sweet, and I'm going to make when school is out.
