Just bought a 2008 4Runner 4x4 SR5 V6. Coming from a 2014 Jeep Patriot 4x4 (now it's my wife's grocery getter, and light off roader) it's definitely a step up. I can't wait to get it out on the trail.... probably tomorrow. Have a few questions though. I've done years and years of research on Jeeps and Willys, but very little on Toyota. My last Toyota was an 07 Tacoma Double Cab TRD Off Road, and it didn't have 4 wheel drive so I didn't feel the need to do much more than wheels and tires.
So the questions are: What is the best suspension lift I can get for my 08 4Runner? I'm looking for good value/cost effective/best ride quality etc. I'm not looking for a rock crawler setup. I'd also like it to be a lift that I could install myself possibly if it's not too hard. Other mods I'd like to know about are: Roof Baskets, off road lights, aftermarket bumpers, what size tires fit comfortably after the suggested lift. I'm basically looking to make this into a safari style rig. It's going to be used for hunting, camping, towing, trail riding, exploring, etc., etc., etc.
Last question: Is there an app for this forum?
