I recce'ed peters mill run the weekend before last. Unless you're really used to covering a lot of distance off-road, the fact that the tasker's gap exit is closed for trail work means you're driving ~20 miles. None of it is really gnarly, but it's rough enough to make you want to stop for a long nap.

It's fun, especially if you're looking to shake your setup out.

I'd be happy to run it again with more TEs.

I'd be into doing an overnight camping trip and running Peter's Mill etc. At this point Spring weekends are filling up fast...right now the only good weekends for me are May 7-8, and Memorial day weekend. Hopefully May 7-8 I'll be getting a lift installed somewhere.

What is the deal with beach driving in Assateague? I heard you need an expensive permit and are only supposed to drive on the beach to surf fish?

Assateague is expensive...you have to pay an entrance fee and then buy a permit for beach driving...like 70 bucks for the year or something like that.

You don't need to surf fish to drive on the beach, thats the DE state parks that require you to surf fish if you drive on.

I used to spend a lot of time in Assateague in HS and College...I only lived about 20 minutes away, it was always a great time but I can't say it would be worth the money living in NoVA.

Another thing to consider is that they have a limit as to how many vehicles they will let drive on, so if you don't get there early saturday or sunday, you'll be waiting in line....1 off, 1 on...

I don't have any specific club plans, but have been out and about in the 4runner over the past couple of months (Green Ridge State Forest in MD twice, GWNF twice). I am also planning on going to the Southeast Overland Expo in Asheville NC in June and probably to Rausch Creek in May (and any other time I get away). I usually post up my offroading plans in the regional section so y'all should check there and post up!
