New AA livery..........

American Airlines has "relaunched" itself with a new corporate identity. The logo that everyone knows has been around since 1968. Here it is in case it isn't burnt into your memory.

No word yet (months away) on any merger with USAirways. Over at airliners.net, the forums are "on fire". Many hate it. Many don't, but nobody seems to "love it".

I know this isn't a gun/obama/iphone/nakedchicks thread, so I don't expect alot of responses. Your thoughts??

everyone I know hates american airlines. I've never flown with them.


I fly Southwest and I love it every time.

I fly them internationally. I have a ton of miles with them, so flying anything else doesn't make a lot of sense to me.

Southwest is good, I fly them when I go to visit my sister.

I like it actually. I was never fond of the old logo.

Recommendations for:

Domestic flights: Alaska, Delta, Southwest, JetBlue (great airline!!)
International flights: Lufthansa (best airline I've ever flown)



Avoid: American, Contintental

I wonder what the logo overhaul cost and how much they're going to stick it their customers?

Jet Blue or Southwest for me. I'm sure I would fly the other carriers but when their prices as so much higher than then others...why? Growing up my parents only flew AA, I can't count the number of flights I was on with them, and I don't remember any issues or them complaining about the airline. My favorite was when Delta had 'Delta Song', did anyone fly them? They took the most wise a$$ employees and but them there. They made fun of all the !diots that fly, but in a 'they can get away with it manor'. Like when they called for rows 1-10 to board and this guy in row 2x tries to get on they pulled him aside, stopped boarding, and made an announcement (repeating themselves) about the rows boarding, and holding up his pass showing what his row was saying to double check as you would not be allowed on. His face was priceless with embarrassment.

Agreed.

There were sketches drawn up by amateurs and they were quite good. No doubt they spent millions on the change, no doubt they got ripped off. This one I particularly liked (of the amateurs):

Waste of money if you ask me. Terrible service, terrible planes, and terrible people running the company. They've been bailed out 2 times the government, done everything they can in the DFW area to crush Southwest Airlines, and they still don't make any money. I say let them die and someone with some sense will take over the company and make it a company I might actually want to use.
