New Addidtion to the Stable (Of Cars)

Well after 4 eternal months of waiting and being out $1000 for the spot on the waiting list, we picked up our 2007 Acura RDX today from the dealer. 240 HP and 260 LB/ft of torque. 0-60 in... i bet less than 7 seconds and it certainly feels like it; not that the 4runner is lethargic, but i drove the RDX today (one of the few time's i'm sure), and i was impressed. It has the only one option you can order for it, and that's the technology package which has navigation, real time traffic, back up camera, voice recgonition, bluetooth, and a 410 watt sound system that kicks some major butt let me tell you! the only one accessory we ordered were the splash guards and they come in next week. i thought i'd throw in a pic with (part of) my 4runner in there for good measure.

I haven't seen your model on the street around here yet but if it's half as good looking as the new TL it's sweet. If you get a chance, post up a daytime side shot. I for one would love to see it.

On a side note, how do you like those P275 vs the stock P265's?

sorry for such bad pictures...this was with my phone earlier today and it has been cloudy out lately. we have a relatively narrow driveway with 5 cars in it for the time being so it's sort of hard to get a complete side view.

sooner or later i'll get much better pictures.

oh and the 275's are treating me very well, they have a scary amount of grip actually. makes you want to drive above what you think the limits of the 4runner actually are.

thunder thanks, i got it resolved. the shop tucked the other end of the wiper fluid hose underneath that protector pad on the underside of the hood. one of the cars my dad has is a 2000 Tacoma and i just looked under the hood of that and figured it out.

Good, I was thinking that was all it might be but without looking at mine I couldn't remember exactly how it was routed. I love questions like that. It always gets me to look at things on mine I wouldn't think twice about. I learn better that way vs. reading a shop manual for some reason.

I think it falls into the "Crossover" category. Even Porsche has a model along these lines now.

no, luckily there is no trace of a minivan in the RDX's driving ability. i just drove it for the second time and i was able to drive it the same way as i do when i (rarely) get the chance to drive my friend's 2001 S4. the stable feeling is rediculous. it has super handling all wheel drive (SH-AWD) which not only distributes power front to rear, but also from left to right in the front and rear. the end result is that back the car is actually "scooted" or rotated around the corner as opposed to dragged (figuratively), almost the same feeling as 4 wheel steering but not as dramatic. the same system is on the RL, but was made slightly less complex for the RDX. 38 large is a lot of dough for a small SUV, but considering my parents buy a new car only once every 6 years its not too bad of a deal. :bigok:

I hear ya, but I don't know if I would say "sadly". These aren't Minivans (Which I hate BTW)

There is a niche to the market or the high end wouldn't touch it. I actually hate minivans so much I hope these take over the market.

No they are not our trucks, but would I buy one for the wife to haul the kids around and do errands...Bet!

IMO, great allternative to the Minivan and they look cool too.

Good review. There is a whole lot of tech. being put into vehicles of this type. We will all benefit from it.

the dealer just put on the splashguards yesterday, as well as some nice RDX rubber mats on the inside.
