go to the dealer they have the battery you need got one for my 05 last month no problems. Wish it was the panasonic I took out.

Sam's club or similar. You can pay twice or more as much for a slightly better warranty or packaging, but most car batteries sold in the US are made by just a few battery makers. My Sam's club batteries have lasted well in our abusive cold, and they honored the warranties without question. My last battery was just out of warranty, but the warranty went down gradually from the stated end of warranty. I walked out of Sam's with a new, warranted battery for $7!
I just put a Werker battery in my wife's LC, because nobody carried the correct size and post orientation except Batteries Plus. I paid a lot extra, and maybe it's a better battery, but not likely enough to justify the extra cost.

As previously mentioned, of all the various BRANDS of batteries on the market, there are only 2 or 3 major battery manufacturers. With that said, my opinion is that Interstate is one of the best you can buy and the WalMart Everstart batteries are some of the worst. I've had good luck with Sears DieHards and Delco's. I've also had very good service from the stock batteries in all 6 of my Toyotas over the past 29 years.
It's true that there are only a handful of battery manufacturers.
As I understand it (and correct me if somebody has different info):
Johnson Control makes batteries for Sears Diehard, Autozone Duralast, Interstate, Costco (is that Kirkland or something like that?) , Motorcraft and some Wally EverStarts, ProStart?, Bosch?, Advance Auto. They also make the Optima brand.
East Penn makes Deka.
Exide makes Exide, NAPA, Some Wally EverStarts, Champion,
Delphi makes ACDelco
Then there's probably several other brand names, but they're made by somebody on the above list.
I always go with the Autozone Duralast because they've been solid performers (knock on wood) and there are a ton of stores in most states I'm driving through just in case something happens.

The Interstate MTP-27F has the same specs (710 CCA, 165 min RC) and warrenty (7 years - 2 yr replacement, then 5 year pro-rated) as the above Toyota battery. Intersertingly, the Interstate one is more expensive. I currently have the Interstate one because that particuler Toyota battery is not availble in Canada. I have not had it long enough to comment further.

Based on my experience for the past 5 years I would recommend AutoZone Duralast. I have them on 2 out three of my vehicles (4Runner still have original Panaconic) and they perform great.:thumb3:

I had to replace the 6 year old Panasonic in my 2004 this past week. I checked Consumer Reports online and they actually rated the Everstart (Wal-Mart) and Duralast (Autozone) as two of the best. They were also priced lower than the Die Hards and some of the other "main stream Brands. I recommend checking consumer reports yourself.
I went with the Duralast @ $87. Ironically enough, the factory battery on my 06 Tundra (not a Panasonic) died the same week, so I ended up buying a second identical Duralast a few days later. I guess I'll find out how they (Duralast) hold up in the coming months / years.
Too bad you can't get the Panasonics here. Six years is unheard of for most batteries.

I just had to change my Panasonic 2 months ago. I didnt even notice it getting lower, just one cold morning here in the Pacific Northwest and it almost didn't turn over. Since I work at the local Caterpillar dealer and we get parts at cost, I replaced it with a CAT group 27F one. Cost me about 55 bucks and it works. Noticed thought that the Panasonic was a group 27F but the size was bigger than the new one. I guess a little less weight it better. BTW the CAT battery I got has 675CCA. can't remember what the other minutes are on it but I can find out if someone is interested.
Also I just looked at my Battery book and a group 31 battery is 13x6.75x9.5" as compared to a 27F (12x6.75x9). The biggest benefit to making the group 31 fit is that the Caterpillar group 31 has 1000CCA, 170 reserve minutes, 90 amp/hr capacity. They are about 150 bucks list though. If anyone wants the part numbers for the CAT batteries, let me know. Also the group 27 batteries have a 84-month warranty with 3year free replacement. The group 31 is a premium high output battery and that is only 24month free replacement and total 60 months. Just in case you buy one, make sure you tell them you installed it in a farm tractor. otherwise the warranty is 3 months and 12 months.
