New Bridgestones, want to change to Michelins

My 4R came with factory installed Bridgestone tires. I asked the dealer if I could “upgrade” to Michelins, even if it meant paying the difference in price. They said that the tires could not be exchanged because of the warranty.

I guess I could go to a Michelin dealer and buy new tires, but the Bridgestone tires that I have are brand new (500 miles on them). Do you know of any dealer that would receive these semi-new Bridgestones and give me a good deal on the Michelins?

Your dealer is full of crap. Can't switch tires because of a warranty issue? I've never heard of anything like that, ever.

Fortunately, my Runner came with the Michelins, but I had it written into my sales contract that if it came equipped with any other tire, they'd swap the tires out, no charge, and they had absloutely no problem adding that in. Of course, the salesman looked at me like I was a little bit nuts, but hey, I'm anal when it comes to tires.

Try Discount Tire or Tire Kingdom. Both of those places, at least in my area, have given me some type of trade-in value over the years when I've wanted different tires.

You should, Michelin's are the greatest! They're so quiet! Grips and handles really well...IMO.
