The rear one is bent in half in my trash can, the front one is still ok, but is also in my trash lol. I figured you were all set when you posted up your little sawzall job. If you want it, I can fish the front one out. Trash day is Friday and I'm leaving for a camping trip thursday afternoon, so just let me know before then.

Please save the front! Haha. I need to do R&D

Gonna have Toyota pull off the old ones tomorrow morning when they do my 45k service

Make sure they don't snap the bolts holding it on. I brought mine in for the 60k (front diff fluid change was part of it). Saturday, I found out that they didn't even bother to bolt up part of the skid plate- they just left the broken bolt in the crossmember and sent me on my merry way. We spent a good half hour drilling and retapping bolts. Let me know when you can come grab it.

The middle and rear bolts were the worst ones. I would hit them with a good bit of PB Blaster before attempting to remove them. You could also just get a tap ready lol

No welder yet. Might try to bend up some 3/16 plate.

Head count roughly 15? Maybe a few more?

I'm planning loads of PB blaster and an impact wrench! Should do the trick.

I seriously wouldn't use an impact. Toyota used these really crappy self-tapping bolts to mount them. You'll snap the head right off with an impact. I would use a standard 1/2" ratchet. You'll get a better feel for if you are about to snap one.

Skid plates

I'm not sure if the skid plates from the 3rd gen match up with your 05, but I'm pretty sure I still have my old ones. Took em off when I got the budbuilt skids. I have to check in storage ober the garage but you are welcome to them if you want. They are beat up a bit but still offer protection.

You should check this out. Plastic skid plates. I know sounds whimsy but a lot of Rick buggy guys use it to save weight and it's pretty tough. I think it's the same kind of plastic they use for cutting boards. It's called UHMW Plastic.You can get it online. Search Google.
