I'm think'n it was as you suggested; frozen caliper... I'm going to tear down the front end anyway and be sure all is well. There was that "rattle" that I could not identify either although that disappeared once back on pavement but the whale remains.

Hey ! Never bothered those front fender flares; that was a pleasant surprise! Pretty rigid frame.

OR sell your truck to Seaworld and buy something nice! Haha. I know my brake pads were worn to the metal for both front calipers when mine were stuck. They just wear away gradually and your stopping force is drastically decreased. If I could recommend one thing, do the work yourself with non-Toyota parts. The dealer wanted $1,100 to do my brakes, and my dad had 4 stuck calipers on his '05 when they replaced the frozen calipers with OEM re-mans. I have duralast calipers from autozone and I have had NO problems. I'm also running the Wagner Thermoquiet ceramic pads up front. Boy do they grab!

Good thing you don't have to mess with that bumper again! Your frame shouldn't flex THAT much anyway. It's just a safety net for the manufacturer so you don't go after them for breaking your stuff with "poor build quality".
