Looks like you guys had a good day on Saturday, sorry I had to bail at the last minute but something came up.

Watching that vid of the dude in the Jeep was painful I'm surprised he actually made it out of the woods. My theory...it committed suicide on the way home because of the beating it had to endure. :lmao:

I have regard for my truck, but I don't really cringe at a few bumps and bruises along the way. The only thing I back out of easily is weird angles. I don't like off camber, but I love flexing

Now that I have that RAM mount, I'm gonna use the inclinometer app and hopefully get less spooked on off camber shit

i dont mind the cuts or scrapes, trust me mines covered in the wonderful deep gouges tree branches leave in plastic, hows the inclinometer app compare to a levo-guage?

It gives both pitch and roll. It's not bad! For a few bucks, it's pretty good.

My woman killed my bumper on a sign post. That's why I have a burlt steel bumper now. I can bump trees for shits and giggles . I have to agree , the guy in the jeep was going hard that day, not my style I like to be smooth and steady and let my truck do its thing. Alex you are a nut too , no ****s given on the trail !

Yeah Casey didn't have a lot of finesse (but then neither do I). It was a nice jeep sorry it died, but Chris said he has had issues with it since he got it. I didn't realize how much Fernando had to get out of the way.

Funny you say that Alex had problems with his truck in the water and was wondering g about how good the seals are. For some reason I think the older trucks are sealed better. I base this opinion on nothing factual .

Many deep water crossings and still no bad bearing or seals. I could just be lucky.

Might want to add skids to the list to be on the safe side.

Budbuilt or man a fre. The part I hit most is the transfer case so I'd go with full steel skids. Alex has stock skids beat to shit and hes lucky he hasn't stuck a rock into his transmission or snapped his t case off on a ledge. Your fine until you aren't, then your screwed. Ive used every piece of armor on the truck, I bent my sliders, my skids are beat up so bad I cant get them off and my winch bumper has gotten some heavy use. That being said, we have guided stock rigs through some sketchy shit. If you can handle some scratches and you have a lift then you can go anywhere I go , you just need to be carefull and we might have to use the recovery gear, which seems to be needed every trip lately anyway.

I think your truck is just a magical submarine. Mine doesn't like water that much. Ive done bearings twice in the last 2 years.

My AC compressor and PS pump, on the other hand..... They sound like death

I know there may be more options as far as skids go for the 4th and 3rd gens. I have a 5th and still there are a good number of companies that make them. Like Josh said(absolute yota) Bud Built and Man A Fre. You could also look at Shrockworks and ARB...the list goes on, somewhat. I bought a set from RCI Metalworks in steel but I don't believe they make them for the 4th gen. I've run head on into a rock hidden in some tall grass and it dented in the oil filter window pretty good. I'm grateful I had them on. Chris, another member on here (Icufltrn) has come out with us a couple of times now running stock skids and had bent the front skid in half.

I'm gonna get RCI, they seem pretty awesome, and you can get engine, trans, and t-case skids in a package for $490! Great deal!
