Have any of you bought a pass for the over sand at Race Point in PTown? I was thinking of doing it for this year. I went there last year a couple of times and got a ticket the second time for not having a pass. Driving on the dunes was pretty cool and it was nice to be able to park right next to where I went swimming. Do many of you go there? I know it's a far hike, 90 miles for me, but I like camping and would like to do some legal wheelin.

We went to sandy neck in Barnstable I believe. No dune driving but it was fun.

You can't get in without a sticker

Yup, I bought one last year, $150 for the season and it is good through the ok lowing April. It's good for the beach out by Pilgrim Hill too.

Downside is closures due to the nesting birds, so get it now and use it before/after the nesting season.

I think there is also a town closer in which sells access passes and has sizeable beach. Can't remember the name at the moment.

Alex and Grey, thanks for replying. I might head down in the next week or so to get the permit. Was there a movie you had to watch to get the pass? Where is Pilgrim Hill? Is that right near the lighthouse?

No movie. You need a lot of items to go on sandy neck though (like a shovel and a 2'x2'x3/4" piece of plywood, etc.)

They DO inspect your vehicle prior to entering for these items

I got the name wrong, it's Pilgrim Heights area, the access is called High Head. It's off Rt 6 near Pilgrim lake, before you get into PTown.

The NPS site lists the gear requirements, they check for all of it so make sure you have it covered.

Hey...

Whats up everybody....thought I would check in with all the T4R peeps in NE.

I'm about to get mine back from the wife (it has become her Winter vehicle). Thinking about what mods I would like to get done over the Summer.

I need to get a couple things done to the Tundra first (lift/level & bed liner). Then its the T4R's turn...

Loving this weather!!! Gets the camping juices flowing...lol:guitar3:

Great video from the 2014 West Greenwhich Big River cleanup!

"An annual volunteer event sponsored by the West Greenwich Conservation Commission with the assistance of the RI chapter of the New England Mountain Bike Association, Rhodie Rovers, the North East Association of 4WD Clubs and local citizens and neighbors. Volunteers cleanup roadside trash, old dumps and house sites in Big River Rhode Island. In a little over 3 hours with 100+ volunteers we filled 5 dumpsters !"
