New exhaust help!

Hey guys I am looking to finally put a new exhaust on my 96 limited. I was thinking of a flowmaster 40 series, i have a budget, would this be a good choice or is there something better for a max of $200???:noidea::noidea:

You talking about a whole exhaust or just a muffler? I have the Magnaflow 18" model. Been great for a year now. Comes with a lifetime warranty, and was $100 installed.
Sounds good at idle, and doesn't drone on the interstate. I know there is a thread floating around about COBs bad experience with them, but I've had no problems (waiting for someone to post that up).

The Magnaflow problem "may" be only with the larger 24" model that is offset.
For some ignorant reason they use a 2 piece perforated tube inside and it is simply a design flaw because that one WILL start to rattle and fall apart.

IF the 18" uses a 1 piece tube then it may be just fine.

I wanted quiet so after the Magnaflow sadness I went with a Borla 40665 Turbo XL which is great.
Cost is $102 on Amazon right now, usual price is around $168

Since you have had experience with both. Was the borla xl louder than the magnablow?

Nope, both about the same, the Borla has just a slightly different "tone" but both were rather quiet until you give it full throttle then they roar right on up.

Got the long magnaflow on my 3.4 taco, it's smooth and sounds great when you get on it. 40 series on my 3rz 4runner and is much more raspy, more my preference. $65 shipped off ebay.
