New Falken AT tire (A/T3W)

Can anyone here give a report on the wildpeak MT's (aside from the one report earlier)? Curious if anyone else tried them and your thoughts. I like that they are more aggressive and about to pull the trigger on a set.
I'll be putting a set in my SCS SR8's

Other guys are running them and I've heard only great reviews. These went to the top of my list of possibilities in 50k miles.

I've been eyeing this tire among others in stock size P metric. I'm shying away due to the weight of the tire..~45 lbs.. did you guys notice a weight difference with these tires? Trying not to make my ride any slower than it already is. Thanks

Put these tires to use in the peak of the Blizzard yesterday, and I am still loving them. Even plowed through a couple 2'+ snow piles with ease. They love the deep snow but not so much the slick slushy snow.

Yes, I could tell a difference. I noticed it downshifted in areas where it normally did not... I wouldn't say significant though.

2nd snow ice report: Was in SW colorado in the San Juans a couple of weeks ago. I'm just really learning about this snow/ice stuff, but I'm amazed at how well these tires work. Very rarely have to use 4WD. One little test: I drove down into a friends drive/parking area that was slicker than owl sh**. A little scion with fwd and street tires was hopelessly stuck and could not get out of the drive. you could barely walk on this ice without bustin your ass. I could NOT get out in 2wd either. 4WD high and no problem.

Came back from the bar a few hours later and drove in and out in 2WD. No problem. Guessing time spent at the bar helps these tires grip even better. LOL:cheers:

Just installed Falken AT3W in a 285/75/17 flavor mounted to RRW2 17x8.5 wheels. The tread is a bit mild for my taste, but given the cost it was better then the alternatives in this size.

Awesome they look great. I'm fighting back and forth between the Nitto RG and this tire in LT, but its really hard for me to justify $1100 in tires that will probably wear out in 2-3 years anyways... how do you like them?

Best all arround tire

The AT3W are far the best all terrain tire out there. I live in Canada, we receive a lot of snow every year, deep snow. Those tires clear very easily in 2Hi, not even in 4Hi. They are quite on road, they work great in the rain/icy road too. After 2 sets of Duratracs and 1 set of K02, those ares the best all around tire. Can't wait to try them on rock/mud terrain.

They are cheaper and stronger.

dont know which Discount tire site youre looking at, mine says $270/tire which is 1080, minus the $100 promo is still 980, then 80 dollar rebate and online purchase discount is still $900. where as if i did the LT Wildpeak it would work out to be about $580. after hearing such good things about these I'm so close to pulling the trigger. Oh and they are supposedly a full 33' in LT, where as the Nitto is only 32.7, and the Falken has 18/32nds of tread which is very nice.
