New Falken AT tire (A/T3W)

I recently put the Falkens on my new 4runner. I stayed with 265/70/17s and am running TRD wheels and 5100s all around with the front set to 1.75". I got rubbing in full lock reverse and did the fender liner mod. Still have some rubbing on one side and need to go a little further..

No Rubbing here :thumb: 265/70/17s wildpeaks and TRD wheels, but i am using the Eibach kit (2.75" front / 1.0" rear).

Curious to know if 275s will fit on a non-lifted ORP. I don't mind getting the 265s but would prefer 275s. Not planning to lift mine any time soon, if ever.

Only rub is at full lock. Slight fender liner should do the trick. Ill be checking it out more tonight so I should have more specific info for you. See below:

275/70/17 C load on fully stock ORP. Only rubbing is at full lock. As started above in some of the responses to mine going on, I will have to do some slight modification for the rub as it is annoying. I don't know about offroad yet, will know more this weekend when I go out. Haven't taken them above 40 yet so don't know about wheel shakes at all.1
BUT in the mean time damn they are sweet and look good. :lookout:

Looks good! What type of lift are you looking at doing in the future? I am super happy with my 6112/5160 set up.

Taking recommendations! Currently deep in looking at options. I don't think I need nor want to go the king/icon route. I wont go over 2", so probably a 1.5-2" lift. I have been lost in the bilstein thread for the past two weeks trying to figure out what I want to do. Too many options

I am using the Toyota UCAs. Eibach stated “most of the customers” using the lift ran factory UCAs. The 4x4 Jeep shop that did the install pretty much said the same thing. I have not wheeled the 4Runner since the tire and lift install. That may change next month If I go to Moab. The day after the lift was installed I has a lifetime alignment done at firestone. Camber measured out at 2.8 degrees. The ride is noticeably better, the install shop did say the if I was prone to driving above 80 they’d recommend new UCAs. Since I’m not, 6 months, 1 road trip, and daily usage later, I am happy with the ride.

I feel ya! I fretted over my decision for weeks, went back and forth between Bilstein 5100, a full Dobinson's setup, Eibach Pro, Icon Stage 2 and eventually landed with the Bilstein 6112/5160 setup with Dobinson 1.5" coils in the back. I decided I didn't want to go rebuildable while I am using my Runner as a daily, and for the $$ the Bilstein 6112/5160 was what I went with and couldn't be happier with the decision so far. I posted some pics of my rig after suspension/tire install a page or two back on this thread.

Well that's odd - found a big chunk missing from one of the lugs on my passenger rear tire.

Guess I'll drop by discount tire and get it replaced.

I think I am going to do the Bilstein 6112 front with 650lb HD coils and 5160 in the rear with 2" icon rear springs. They come out to around $1300 which from what I can see is pretty similar everywhere I looked. Not sure if there are any other better deals out there. I think I might just go through Wheelers and get the 5/10% off to get a little more off using the forum code of first order signup bonus.

Went to Southern Missouri Off Road Ranch Sunday afternoon.
SMORR – Southern Missouri Off Road Ranch

Spent 3 hours cruising the easy trails. The place was pretty dead. Only saw 4 SxS's and 4 Wranglers. Aired my 265-70R17 SL Falken Wildpeak AT3's down to 15 PSI.

Mud hole in an Off Road park with Jeeps on 40's? Hell yeah!!!
The 4Runner plowed right through in 4 low with the rear locker.

I got my parts from Battle Born Offroad out in Vegas. They also do a T4R discount. I got my parts super quick too, within a week.

Too much sidewall exposure

Looking at your last picture.
Don't you think that is too much sidewall exposure for an SL?
I run the same tire and have always been worried about getting too low.
I've slowly walked myself down to 26 or so on rocky trails looking for some comfort/softness, but never really needed it for traction.
Still not sure what my sweet spot is... or what too low is for SLs, but I can't imagine doing 15 on anything but the beach maybe.

I think 20 to 25psi would be best. No issues but I won't go that low again with these tires.

Noticed some vertical cuts in the sidewall of the driver side front tire.
Took it in and had it replaced by Discount Tire. Also bought a 2nd tire.

Had the right rear tire (the one with the torn tread lug) moved to the spare and both new tires put on the rear. New tires are Made in the USA. Old ones are Made in Thailand.

Total for 2 new tires = $233.21

Have 25k miles on the 3 old tires.

I had no idea this place even existed! It’s only an hour and 15 minutes from our lake house, I’m totally going to have to do this!

I'm leaning towards the Falkens. I have had Ridge Grapplers and KO2's on my Jeeps. Out of the 3, I like the looks of the RG's the best and the Falkens the least. The KO2's were definitely quieter than the RG's so that moves the RG's to the bottom of the list. So between the KO2's and Falkens I'm leaning towards the Falkens based on price and because they are something different. Hoping that's the right choice.

what size did you go with?
