I wonder how exactly the dealer pulled off scratching all the wheels?
They had a new machine and I do not think the mechanic knew how to use it.
Just installed the P265/70/17’s on my ‘16 SR5 with SCS Stealth 6 wheels. I think they look great so far. I had about 45k on my stock Dunlop AT20’s. These are significantly quieter at the moment, even with the much more aggressive tread. I’m looking forward to seeing how they perform on snow (the reason I bought these) and will update when I have more feedback.
For anyone considering the same setup, I do have very minor rubbing on both sides. I’m on stock suspension and will do the fender liner mod to make a bit of room. I would not have been able to go any larger without doing some cutting of the bumper. This setup is a great way to fill the wheel up a bit more than stock while staying at stock tire size.

This is pretty much the combo I'm looking for my '17 silver SR5. Are those the Stealth 6 the black or "matte gunmetal"? They seem darker than I would expect.
And, any lift or leveling on yours?
I'm super stoked about these AT3W's - just need my AT20's to wear out a little more.
I’ve had these on for about a week. 265/70r17 P rated. Vibrations at 65/70 mph. I was due for an alignment so had that done. Still present. Plan on taking it in to discount to get them checked. I’ll give it another shot at balancing and if no good I’m going to return for something else. I want to like them! Will report back.
take them somewhere to get road force balanced if your DT doesnt have a machine. be sure they use a haweka adapter aka "fingers" and turn the smart weight balance function off to get a more accurate reading. discount tire couldnt roadforce balance my tires properly. the only place i've had luck is with one particular tech at the local toyota dealer of all places.
They’re the stealth 6 matte gunmetal. They’re pretty much what I was expecting. It’s overcast here, so they probably look a touch darker in these pics than they would in the sun. They look really high quality in person. I’m extremely happy.
No lift or level at the moment. Everything is bone stock except for the wheels. I’m going to put Bilstein 5100’s on front and back to reduce the brake dive this spring. I’ll lift the front .85 at that time.

Had them re-balanced. Turns out two of the weights came off from two of them. They feel "better" But still not 100% happy. Debating on returning them for KO2's again. Had Zero issue with my 265 KO2's. This is my 3rd set of tires. 265 KO2's 285 Ridge Grapplers and now these. Previous tires drove nicely with the Ridge Grapplers being slightly noisier. Maybe I just got a bad one. He said one of them took an abnormal amount of weight to balance. Frustrating.

FWIW we just had a set of A/T3W's installed on our 5th gen Trail, stock size(265/70/17), and 3 of the 4 appeared as though they were molded incorrectly. Hard to explain but I watched them on the spin balancer and if you looked at them from the tread-side as they were spinning, it's almost as though they were wobbling side to side. It was like that on 3 of the 4.
Only 1 of the 4 in this first set didn't have this wobbly characteristic, and it balanced fine BUT took a ton of weight.
Even with a road force balance, 65-75 mph (speed limits here are 75), we'd get an unsettling higher frequency vibration on that set.
After ~200 miles of this, we'd had enough. Through a local tire shop, Falken shipped a replacement set under warranty which all went on no issue and didn't take nearly as much weight. The guy doing the balancing said that all 4 combined of the replacement set took less total weight to balance than the 1 non-wobbly tire from the first batch.
Not sure if it was just a bad manufacturing run, but all 4 from the first (wobbly) batch had the same DOT code from the 2nd week of Oct, 2018. The ones that went on and balanced out fine were DOT coded mid-November 2018.
These aren't as quiet as the K02's I run on my other 4Runner, but for the price, I'm fine with it.

These will definitely be fine. Lots of opinions on here but I honestly feel like going E rated only benefits you if you're doing rock crawling. It's a thick sidewall and can be a really harsh ride. The C rated is a great option (if available in that size) if you're worried about punctures but the P rated still has a thick and aggressive sidewall that will protect you for what you're doing. I do a lot of shale trails here in colorado that I've punctured tires on before and my P rated AT3Ws have performed perfectly.

Also the compound changes based on the load rating. E and C rated versions don't use the softer winter compound so they are not as good on snow and ice. While the SL and XL do have the winter compound. XL has a higher ply rating than the SL, but could be harsher as well.
But, the E and C have a deeper tread

Here in Colorado I am going with the SL 265/70 17. Better in the snow, and a lot lighter. Improved acceleration, better at going over passes, better handling, better gas milage...a lighter tire can make a huge difference... on the road at least

Wow. That’s crazy. I didn’t get a chance to check the date on them as I exchanged them for KO2’s earlier today. Drive home tonight felt amazing. I really wanted to like them. They just felt weird to me. Good chance I got some bad ones. Ah well. Happy to be back in the C rated 265 KO2’s

Upgraded from 275 KO2s to 285 RT Peaks and couldn’t be happier. Discount tire gave me $150 per tire on my trade ins, and road force balanced. Zero vibrations at speeds over 70+, and they are quieter than the KO2s. Nothing off road yet, but based on everyone’s reviews, the Peaks will be killer.

Wildpeak AT3W 15,000 mile review
EDIT: you all know that you should only buy Wildpeaks from approved distributors because there are tires that were supposed to be destroyed but are sold by others, right? There used to be a warning on the Falken website though I no longer see it. Hopefully the defective tires are all gone. I use Discount Tire.
Ok, I am a bit short of 15,000--but close.
Vehicle: 4R TRDOP non-kdss, March 2018. Wildpeaks a week later.
P 265 70 17.
Total mileage: close to 15,000.
Dirt use: over 1,500 miles, 61 trails, 70 runs.
Notable trails: Backaway to Crown King, Broken Arrow, Fins and Things, Tower Arch, Maze district of Canyonlands, Montana mountain trails.
Road pressure: 33-35 psi. Offroad: 28-35. Yup. Only aired down to 21 for Double Crater climb near Flagstaff.
Overall impressions: best I have had (much better than Toyo AT II, BFG KO2s, Conti AT, Geolander ATS).
Rock: superb. They are not as strong as MTs or select D/E load ATs, but they are strong enough, even at street pressures. One puncture due to high pressures, good speed, and many sharp small rocks on an easy desert trail. Bad luck more than anything. Incredible traction in rock, at least coupled with a TRDO/TE
Dirt: great in 4H. Coming from a Subaru, handling on dirt leaves a lot to be desired on a high center of gravity 4x4, but grip is great in 4H. No serious complaints.
Sand/snow: no complaints. Mud: meh, not a fan of mud. Avoid it when I can.
Road performance: No appreciable difference from the stock tire on road. No appreciable mpg drop either.
Road comfort: Impressively quiet (no noise) and comfy (no discernible harshness).
Why P metric? Because P metric is far superior almost all of the time. It means no airing down for comfort and much less airing down for traction than an E-load tire meant for super duty trucks. It means minimal impact on acceleration, mpg, and road comfort. The one place where the E-load version may pay off is the Sonoran desert but even so I would rather replace a tire once a year than put up with all the E-load compromises on daily basis.

No, standard load is a load metric for P-rated tires:

Looking to go with Wildpeaks when I replace my stockers. Considering stock size (P265/70-17) or going up to the C-rated LT 275 but that's an extra 10.5 lbs per tire, according to Falken's charts. Seems like a lot of extra weight.
