If you get the SL (P-metric) instead of LT-E, it is unlikely you will have issues.

I’m so over discount tire. DT direct is better but the stores won’t make their own deal unless I do the footwork and bring them a quote. They don’t stand on their own two feet.

Tire buyer had the best deals I’ve found. Period. Just ordered some Nitto RGs there. If you’re a first responder or military they also offer a discount which was awesome and entirely unexpected. Check them out.

I’ve had great luck with Tire Buyer so far. I purchased Ridge Grapplers for my F-150 from them. Saved a bunch of money and the process was so smooth. Loved the R Grapplers, but they were louder than expected especially considering the online reviews. Very smooth on the highway and great off road.

Purchased a set of four Falken A/T3W tires for my new 4Runner Off Road yesterday from Tire Buyer. Hope they fit my needs. Outstanding price for a relatively high rated AT tire. Hope they’re as quiet as posted in most reviews.

I’ll agree with your take on the Ridge Grapplers. They are definitely louder than the AT3W. I’m shocked by the claims they’re quite, which they may be compared to a MT. Everything is subjective though. I’ll say the Falkens are much more quite but the RGs are the best off road tire I’ve used. Everything’s a compromise and the RG isn’t loud per say, just not as quite as the AT3W.

You’ll be pleasantly surprised then. When buying an AT one shouldn’t really put the weight of the decision on the sound level of the tire, but then again, tires have improved so much so that you shouldn’t have to suffer with a loud tire. I don’t think the RGs are loud, but the AT3W is hardly noticeable comparatively.

The stores are not.

I've been using Discount Tire stores for a long time. Never had any issues and the prices were always great. Negotiate with them and they will usually come down. I think I paid around $165 per tire for my K02's when the retail price was $229. Black Friday deals helped.

I have had my Es on for about 10k so far mounted on TRD wheels. They still look brand new showing little signs of wear. They are heavy, and you will take a hit to MPGs. They get a little slick in light snow.

I recently had them rebalanced after a rotation, I did not realize the slight wobble when in the rear, but in the front, steering shook pretty bad around 60mph. Rode great headed home after the rebalance.

What I have noticed is that when the tires are cold, I get a slight wobble, but as soon as they warm up it goes away. I am probably a little under inflated running 38psi under daily driver highway conditions.

30k on mine. 0 balancing issues. Very little road noise and seem to be wearing like iron. These tires have turned out to be much better than I expected. For the price, I have been very happy.

Load Range C!!!

Is Falken about to further own the limited 33 and Load range C market? Yup!

I know! Very interesting. I suppose they should release an LT-C in that size for general use.

Personally, I am keeping my eyes on 255 75 17 Firestone Destination MT2 as my Plan B should I decide to walk from the P265 70 17 Wildpeaks.

255 75 17 offers LT-C MTs and Cooper MAxx all with 3-ply sidewalls. But the Firestone MT2 is also just 47lb same as my Wildpeaks.

Of course, I don't worry about slush and packed snow and I rarely see rain.

But so long as P265 70 Wildpeaks remain 140 per tire, they are unbeatable all around.

EDIT: What kind of Fox is on those Jeeps? 2.0s? I know the Raptor "2.5" shocks are far from what one would expect from an actual 2.5.

Good question. All LTs should have the same tread but an OEM tire can be inferior to an aftermarket version of the same from what I have read.

That said, there is no guarantee the LT would wear any slower. In fact, the SL is supposed to last longer.

In my use, with lots of offroad, it does not matter, neither P, nor LT last LOL.

I can verify the load range C have the deeper tread. I ran the SL and have been eyeing hard the E. These are definitely deep AF.
