Wonder if it's related to this warning on their website. Hopefully that means new stock is good to go but who knows how much of the bad stock is still out there.

I looked at their website and the new 275/70/17 C-rated tires have a weight of 57.1 lbs...making it easily the heaviest 275 tire around (including E's). In fact, they are heavier than most 285 E-rated tires. I emailed Falken to confirm that the weight listed on their website is correct, and they confirmed it is. I was holding out for these tires but given the almost ridiculous weight I'll probably just end up going 285 C-rated BFGKO2's or possibly a 275 C-rated Cooper AT3.
I feel like acceleration and breaking with these tires would be the equivalent of 34-35 inch tires, which I really don't want.
Have no idea whey they weigh so damn much....I know they tout their tread depth as the deepest around for all terrains....maybe that extra rubber adds that much weight?

I have had a set of 285/75r16s on my tundra, they are two years old and have 40k on them. By far the longest lasting tires I’ve ever had they still have over 50% tread and I beat the crap out of these things. Not to mention I’ve had screws in them multiple times. I will be buying them for my 4Runner when needed for sure!
FWIW my truck is very quick and get 16 mpg, don’t notice weight at all.

Just ordered these up today from Simpletire.com for $140ea with free shipping. Factory size 265/70/r17, replacing the small 255s the dealer put on and stepping it up for a crazy NE winter coming. Toyota is offering a Buy3 get1 free until the end of the month on tires but they stopped offering the General Grabber ATX that I wanted so settling for these, and fingers crossed I don't have the balance issued i've read about here!

op2:Just put a set on the 4runner a few weeks ago. Put a small lift and went with 285/70R17 for a size. Wheels are 0 offset. Did some slight trimming on the bumper and still have very slight rubbing in reverse while turning and only when the suspension is slightly flexed. Not enough for me to do any body mount chopping.
I do have a slight vibration from 50-60 mph. I ordered them form discount tire direct. I'm hoping a re-balance will cure that up.

I just got a set of p265/70/17 SL wildpeaks atw3 installed yesterday. I’m not feeling any steering wheel vibrations at 50-60 mph like others have mentioned. America’s tires installed them quickly and didn’t seem to have any issues balancing them. I only have about 50 miles on them so far. Right off the bat I could notice a big difference in grip from the bridgestone duelers that came stock. These are 6lbs heavier than the duelers and I can feel the difference there too. I’m certain the mpg’s will drop a bit. No lift...yet! I tried to go up a local trail but didn’t realize it was closed off due to recent fires. Had to turn around 2 miles in.

I have them on for almost a year now. No vibration just nice ride. You may be getting guys in hear trashing those tires so they get paid from other manufactures to do that. They were great price. I order them online and went to Costco for installation. A bit :cheer2:heavy to lift in my truck but I saved like $400 from other brands tires

Looking for real world feedback on these tires from those who decided to go with the SL version of the tires instead of LT. I’ve only had my 265/70/17 SL’s for a few days and only have a few fire road miles on them but they look and feel great so far.
I’d like to hear from owners who have taken them out on trails and their experience. Are sidewalls getting punctures or sliced easily ? Regrets about not having LT’s on the trail ? Would someone be foolish to go on anything but fire roads or very easy trails with these tires? Anyone really test these out yet?

Seriously considering the LT265 75 17. Weight is only 52. I have looked at everything from KO2, stt max, stt pro, General everything and come back to these. The weight of the others are concerning. I would be using original wheels. Is the weight increase over stock duellers going to be that noticeable?
I may go to konig wheels in the future, just to cut overall weight.

The stock tires are 40lbs. The 265’s in the SL are 46lbs’s and I could feel a difference in response when stepping on the pedal. You’d be adding 12 lbs per tire with those
I just put on LT265/70-17 BFG KO2 replacing my factory Bridgestone Dueler P265/70-17. I was getting 19.1 mpg with my factory tires. Now I'm getting 19.0 mpg. However, hunting season is in so I'm pulling a 4-wheeler trailer more now.

Do you do a lot of highway driving? That’s pretty good gas mileage with those tires
Not much at all. Mostly two lane roads.
