Urban Runner
I am going to buy an Urban Runner in the next week, but can't decide if I want to try out the TomTom because ive never used one before.
Is everything in your urban runner working well? and are you happy with your Urban runner overall?(tomtom, interior, the way the car drives, ect...)
Also, trying to choos between black or white, leaning towards white, anybody have any ideas???

The first and easiest thing to answer is yes, I love the Urban Runner.
The interior is classier than the normal SE model - it's plusher than the SE fabric and keeps cooler than leather. The seats are very comfortable and everyone who has ridden in it agrees.
I never had much experience with TomTom before the UR (Urban Runner), but so far, I'm pretty happy. I used to drive a 97 Camry with a Pioneer AVIC-N1 nav unit, and the TomTom is smarter than the AVIC in terms of navigation. You can also change things while you are driving, something you can't do with the AVIC. It's also VERY fast - it runs off of a SD card, so re-routing is done as you miss turns and the interface reacts quickly to your touches. As you can tell, it also pops out for security reasons for your convenience (taking it to another vehicle, or camping, whatever).
The bluetooth function works well - people can generally hear me loud and clear, and even people outside of the car, on the passenger side, can be heard by the other person on the line.
It also comes with some extra TomTom Plus features, including weather reports, traffic, POI downloads, etc, that, unfortunately, doesn't work with my phone.
The stock audio is so so, as you might imagine. It's fine enough if you don't care about sound quality or being able to run it loudly (say windows down and driving fast). It's capable of some decent bass for a stock system and the highs come out nicely because of the component system (separate speakers in the door, one for the woofer [midbass] and one for the tweeter [highs]).
The rest of the audio functions are meager - you can program radio favorites and do other very basic audio functions. It's a one CD system. Nothing to write home about in terms of the audio - really, the TomTom navigation is the star of the unit.
I'm EXTREMELY happy with way the car drives - smooth as silk up to freeway speeds. I almost never notice it shifting (which is especially nice coming from a 97 Camry that would kick into second gear!). It's got plenty of pep for passing when you need too, and it barely stresses the engine. In the almost 800 miles I've driven, it's almost never had to go above 2000 RPMs. Like I said, silky smooth.
One of the few nitpicks - the keyless button for the rear window only lowers the window. It doesn't raise it up again. You have to get back in the car, put the key in the ignition and then raise it. Not quite keyless, eh? But this isn't unique to URs.
I chose black because I've always wanted a black car - but you'll always hear the adage that black cars get dirtier - and while they might look a little dirtier, they aren't really. I enjoy washing my cars, so it's not a big deal for me. I'd say go with whatever color you prefer.
As a bit of back story, I was originally dead set on getting a SE because I was going to replace the stock stereo system no matter what. As it turns out, I was able to get a great deal on the UR package, so I couldn't resist. I'm still going to replace the stereo and stock speakers (Kenwood DNX-8120 and JL Audio), but I'm really happy I'll have the TomTom around for other cars and/or to loan to my girlfriend or friends. It comes with a "to go" kit, where you can charge the TomTom in another car without docking it.
So, in summary, it's a great buy. Still fairly unique, drives like any V6 SE should drive, and has practical creature comforts. I'm very happy so far.

Thank you very much for responding and answering all my question about the UR. i really apreciate all the information you gave me. I am leasing a black SR5 right now and my lease is up, so I am probably going to pick up an UR up very soon, I will definatly have to post some pictures once I get it.

My guess is that they cover something - I'll go down later and have a peek to make sure. But I'm pretty sure they are just tabs.

I got a black Urban Runner a week ago and am in love with it. Probably because I drove a shitty two door Ford Exploder for the last 7 years. I had my UR debadged and added some tint to the windows and side signal mirrors at the dealership. I also debadged the UR logos and XREAS logos and I highly suggest anyone with a UR do this because it looks ten times better. I think those Urban Runner badges look so tacky, but to each his own.
It looks great, drives great, and finally I have a car that I can treat great.
For anyone that has an Urban Runner on this board or can answer this question in general I'd appreciate it. Inside the middle console there is a small outlet (almost looks like a headphonejack). I was just wondering what this thing was? I never would have noticed it if my snoopy friend hadn't been touching everything with his greasy paws.
In love with my 4Runner. If we still have gasoline after I drive this baby into the ground I look forward to getting a new one in the next decade or two.
It looks great, drives great, and finally I have a car that I can treat great.

My Urban Runner came with the X-REAS already debadged. Go figure.
More useful, however, that auxiliary jack in the center console is for mp3 players. Unfortunately, I think it only works with the standard audio or JBL audio system - I don't think it works with our Eclipse/TomTom unit (at least it didn't when I tried!)
I suppose one of us could check out the manual to be sure, but I'm pretty sure it's useless for the stock Urban Runner.

So all I need is a double ended auxillary headphone cord and I can plug my IPOD in to that jack in the console? What setting would I put it on the stereo to play through that?
I've never had a NEW car before. How long before I am sacred to scratch/crash/hurt my baby.

I still haven't named her myself. But it's my first new car too - I was driving a 97' Camry for 8 years before this!
