New Front Speakers Installed

Just wondering now that you have had these for a while . What setting did you like best on the cross overs for the tweeters ? I notice you set them behind your door panels . How did you secure them there ?

Finished installing my new front speakers this weekend...

I installed Polk Audio db6750 Components. I got them on closeout/open box from Crutchfield super cheap.

Definitly an improvement over the stock speakers.

I am powering them off the HU (Alpine 9857). They could definitly use an amp, but it is not in the cards right now...

I am still running stock rears...

Anyone else have these?

Nice to see your upgrade...anything is better than the stock crap. I like your the HU too. Granted, I'm not a big fan of aftermarket HUs (one reason why I'm still running my stock HU), but the alpines do blend well with the stock lighting.

I replaced all my stock components with JBLs in front & rear doors and the front tweets. I upgraded the rear 4.25" speakers with 5.25" speakers with the help of spacers.

No painting or kit...it's OEM. It's a Sport option. I've got the same thing. The trim around the gauge cluster, shifter and window buttons on each door is the same silver.

Guys... sorry to not post earlier... I tried the other day, but this website wasn't working correctly.

XJeepguy, I'm not sure what your question is about the crossovers? I can't remember if there is a setting for them or not. As for the mounting location - I mounted them to the inner door (metal) behind the door trim panel. I think I screwed them directly to the metal so they wouldn't rattle.

I got the 6.75" Polks and I think they sound much better than the 6.5" Polks of the same series (as some of my friends have those).

I still have the same set-up and am still running them off the Alpine HU. That HU is awsome - I imagine the new Alpine units are even better. I likely won't put any more $$ into the vehicle as I may be selling it soon...

Also - I am located in Columbus, Ohio...

i think i actually prefer the sport trim over my limiteds woodgrain any day of the week.

nice headunit you got, and i used to have the regular polk speakers in my old car. they are great door speakers, they could really bump.

Thanks for the reply . I just installed the 6501 Polks last weekend and they sound great ! I ended up putting the crossovers right behind where the armrest covers are . Reason I asked is mine have 3 settings for the tweets , which after some testing I left on 0 . Its is a huge diff in clarity now compared to the stock stuff . The mids in the doors didnt quite fit like I had expected LOL . Took a bit of " engineering " to mount

I have a Sony 125x2 RMS amp going in this weekend to power them so there should be enough power . I can tell they will thrive on power and need it because they seem thirsty for it just running off my JVC deck .
