Well shoot. It was quite the surprise to see one of my few old posts pop up on these threads. I guess I should've subscribed to my own post so I could keep track of all of these responses. First and foremost, my apologies for not responding to the lot of you. Had no idea all these questions were being asked! Second, is a big thank you to all the compliments and what not. It's nice knowing that my build was helpful and inspiring to others in this community.
I'm going to try and answer the majority of the questions that were posted on this thread.
It cost me about $250 dollars, total, for all materials required to build this platform. About 95% of the materials were from the Home Depot. The one item I ordered online was the lockable latch for the drawer. Sorry, I do not have schematics or a shopping list. I kind of just ran with the build in my head.
This platform works with the seat still installed. The extension rests on top of the folded down seats. I built the support legs from 2x2 pine and door hinges. The legs simply slide into "feet" that keep the support legs locked open, then the folding platform sits on top. The folding platform was cut to specific dimensions for a snug fit and minimal movement.
The drawer and platform have held up great! And my rig has gone through a few more modifications. Just recently got the mod bug again about two years ago when the wife bought me a lift kit for Christmas. Now I'm back at it!
Oh yeah, Team Ramrod. There! I said it!
