New guy here.
A friend named Jarod told me about this site, said it was the best 4runner forum out there.

I dont own one.
But I may soon.

I am looking at a 1995 SR5 model, V6, automatic, 4 door, 2WD, power doors/locks etc, sun roof, roof rack, running boards, towing package etc etc etc
cloth interior.
154k on the ODO

Very good condition car for a decent price in my opinion (under 3 grand)

Coming here to look for things to look for on car, problems, mods available, etc etc etc

currently own:
94 rodeo that was totaled last week by deer on highway
93 turbo mr2
99 buell s3, my drag bike
08 buell 1125R

hopefully my buddy is right and hopefully there will be a green with tan interior yota in the driveway in the next week...

happy thanksgiving

Welcome! The 3rd gen section will have a bunch of great stuff for you.

Prior to buying the '95 try to figure out when the timing belt was done and if the head gaskets have ever been done. The 3.0L's had some head gasket issues, most of which have been fixed by now.

thank you
its got 154k on it, TB done at 140k
so its pretty recent.

and i was looking on here, it said that 95 was end of gen 2, is that correct?

It is true we have a great 3rd gen section, but a 95 is a 2nd gen. That sounds like a nice rig, if you get it post some pics. Good luck.

:bash: Ooops! I knew that... The welcome holds and TB @ 140k sounds good!

The head gaskets on 3.0L were a little more than the random hit-or-miss. I think by '95 they were on to a somewhat improved design and the chances of no issues was better. If they haven't been done don't be surprised when the day comes...

Take my words with a grain of salt. Most of it has been reading on the internet and we all know what that can do. I have some 3.0L experience in a '93 Camry but that's it. It ran great until 70k and 9 years old. At that point we blew a gasket and opted to replace both. With normal maint and the one set of head gaskets it was sold, running great, at 170k
.

i hope you are right on the HG stuff, i did some research and couldnt find any recalls on 95s for headgaskets, so hopefully it was something that was fixed by then.....hopefully.

yeah, i've signed up for a total of 3 4R sites and this is the best i've seen. looked at a few others, but they were so crap that i didnt bother registering.
and heck, one that i signed up for blows big time - 4runnerforum.com........i made two posts wednesday night and since then (its now saturday morning) there has been ONE post.

silly.

i am calling the girl in about half an hour or so to see if she has time today or tomorrow to let me test drive. Id rather go ahead and do that instead of waiting til Monday or Tuesday.
If all goes well I will try to buy Tuesday
