my question is what size door speakers come in a 97 t4r sr5? also if i go with aftermarket will i have to mod the door panle?

its a 4 in the back and a 6 something in the front

You wont NECESSARILY have to mod the front...

I installed some Sony speakers in the front door, and they BARELY fit without modding, but you can get pieces that go in the doors at probably Best Buy or any car audio place...

I'd contact Crutchfield for the speakers. I love their customer service and all of the speakers come with harnesses for free. I've done 3 of my cars now, and had zero issues with the fit and sound.

you can replace the 4" rear speaker with a 5.25" speaker by adding an adapter....about 14 bucks including shipping on ebay.
