New guy with led question

I have been lurking on this forum since I picked up a 2000 sr5 3.4 4x4 with 137000 a month ago.

Not really modding anything yet other than rough country 3 inch lift which I jumped the gun on and now having second thoughts and would like to replace with OME.

I am currently in maintenance mode as I have changed all fluids, timing belt, inner tie rods and full tune up. Now I am ready to tackle the little things in the interior which include center dash lighting.

My hvac lights are out and would like to replace them. I used the search feature and also read the buyers's guide but still not exactly sure which led lights to buy and from who.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Superbrightleds.com I believe is the recommended place to purchase. As far as what to get, keep searching or standby for a reply as I don't know.

thanks gentleman, looks like 74's it is.
Then again the more I read the more I get different choices. My head hurts, just going to leave the burnt ones in. I will by a flash light.

Here's a list of bulbs for the dash...I thought I had the center dash saved also...but can't seem to find it now. If I run across it...I'll post it for you. Good luck!

This should help you. It breaks down the bulbs by year. I really wish I would have had this when I was buying and returning bulbs for a week.

What year is that? They are different for the mid gen upgrades right?

If I could just see this pic it would be one of the best LED bulb replacement thread compilations I've seen. :second:

Edit*** What tha hell? Pic wouldn't come in when I refreshed the page a few times but it's working now. :first:

Along with shootmymime's thread, here's my LED install as well.

I've been searching for a while for LED stuff on 3rd gens and none of these pictures have been seen by my eyes. You guys rock! Thanks for everything.

I have a 2000 and it does NOT match mine...so if I'm not mistaken this is for 96-98. Sorry I don't know for sure.

I hope this helps...

RussToy Do you know exactly what you used for your 2000? I also have a 2000 and have been hesitant to pull the trigger on this mod due to it being unclear. It would be great if you shared your info. Thanks!

Sir, I wish I could help you...but I'm in the same boat as you are...lol!! I've been collecting up information on this mod, but have been a little on the scared side to pull the trigger myself!!

If you look at CJ80's cheat sheet..it show how many of what lights it takes. And although mine is I believe for 96-98...it's basically the same, just in different places on the dash.

I'm sure you were hoping for more...sorry! But, I hope this helps a little. I'm going to do this one weekend this winter...I'm felling pretty confident these are correct.

Refer to the picture I posted and you'll be fine. You can even go to the link I posted for my build and get the links to the exact bulbs (at least for the #24 bulbs).

I just purchased my 99 Limited last weekend and a couple of the interior bulbs were burned out. After sorting through, and cross referencing a few threads I finally gathered enough info to do a full dash LED-swap. I ordered the following from SuperBrightLEDs:

3x 24WHP (Tach,Speedo,and Misc. Gauges)
2x 74WHP (Shifter Light and Cig. Adaptor)
1x 74RHP (Ignition Ring)
4x NEO3-WHP (2x for ECT/Rear Window Control and 2x for knobs on Limited-trim Climate Control)
2x NEO4WHP (Limited-trim Climate Control LCD)

This will give you cool white LEDs for everything, except for the ignition ring which in my case is red.

This forum is incredible - I've already referenced it to swap the interior bulbs, change spark plugs, fog lights and the PCV valve. Good luck with the swap - it makes the interior look a decade younger.

So I'll be that guy ... did you do a search?

It isn't unclear at all and if fact there are some really awesome threads on how to do this mod.

Here is how to search ---> http://www.toyota-4runner.org/off-t...far-more-accurately-than-standard-method.html

Here is the tutorial & information guide page ---> http://www.toyota-4runner.org/3rd-gen-t4rs/69744-3rd-gen-faq-tutorials-documentation-reference.html

Good luck with the modding!
