Hi, everyone im new here, getting used to the 4runner comming from a bmw which i still own. I have a 2006 sr5 4wd 4runner in dark blue metallic, will post pictures later. What are some good sites, for interior, exterior and performance acc. for the 4th gen 4runner.

Welcome to the forum! I promise you will love your new runner more than one of those Beamers.....besides, they're much cheaper to fix (not that we ever need to) and "accessorize" than a Beamer anyway!!!!

Just because your 4Runner is getting poor mileage fore some reason doesn't mean others are.

Have you cleaned the TB and MAF recently? New engine air filter? What kind of gas are you running? Junk or tier 1? What kind of terrain do you drive over? Speeds? Are you aggressive?

i have the v6 one, i get 340-360 on fill up. also parts for my bmw is not bad since i work for bmw. The 4runnner got 78k on it, i just put 5000k hid on it from ddmtuning.com. im planning to get afe pro dry s air filter, and do some maintance.

Welcome the to forum. You will learn a lot of things about your t4r in this group. By the time you finish reading some of the sticky's and upgrade trend, get your self ready for the thing's that you to upgrade or add to your truck.

You get 340-360 on the display for the v6 T4R? That's decent for winter time. I wish I still got that, only see 310-320 now. Not sure what's wrong but if you're a mechanic maybe you can figure it out and let me know! :keyboard:

That is about a 1mpg difference. Negligible.

True, so how about old range of 410+ miles per tank to 310-320, is that still negligible?

Hopefully this wont happen but if the OP's range drops to my current range of 310-320 then maybe I'll see 280. It'll still be a 1MPG diff, so still negligible right?

There's a woman taking Honda to small claims court for never ever getting the claimed MPG on her hybrid, insight I believe. Wonder what it'll take for Toyota to investigate this issue many are experiencing.

Its "Bimmers" not "Beamers", Beamers are motorcycles, Bimmers are cars. I work for BMW, two completly different animals and I think the BMW is much more fun to drive, on pavement, the T4R is more fun on dirt. Yes, I have both.

Oh yeah, while my Bimmer has been very reliable, my T4R is much more dependable than pretty much any BMW. Enjoy, this is a great place you found with the great people!

glad to see another BMW driver. i am too pleased with my BMW not to many issues mainly the reason why i got the toyota due to reliabilty and less problems, don't get me wrong i love my bmw to death its fun and way better on gas and been problem free but i think the thing with bmw's is that you need to drive them more then just cruise in them. also seeing the new BMW's and the issues with x-drive.

BMW has more issues with catastrophic fuel system failures than AWD issues. The inline 6 was pretty much their most reliable motor. When they decided to add forced induction, problems began to present themselves.
