I just got this 2006 4runner totally stock, many mods ahead. I just installed some v2 orions into my stock headlights and painted them flat black. Long process! first time doing something like this. But they came out good

It's a process!
1st- i watched a few videos on youtube on how to bake your headlights and how to install halos

- i ordered the V2 orions from lightwurks
-took the headlights off and baked them at 250 for 15 min, 1 at a time
-they opened right up with no prob
-primed and painted them flat black, I painted the clear blinker covers too so there's no more orange lights
-I used clear 2 part epoxy to glue the halos into place, this was actually difficult because they didn't fit flush. Just start with a little glue on the high beams, The halos are just a little smaller than the high beam opening. So start with enough glue to make them stay where u want them, I just held them in place, the epoxy takes a few min to set, then add more after it sets and the glue hardens. you have to be very careful with the glue because it's messy and you don't want it to get on your newly painted black housing. I also had to drill small holes in the housing next to the highbeams to run the wires from the halos placed over the projector beams.
-then re-baked them at 250 for 15 min each
-put them back together
-added some ultragray silicone sealer around the edges to insure they were sealed
-then wired them to the daytime running/blinker lights. So they are also my blinkers.
I'm having some wire issues that I need to work out because they flash fast when I use my blinkers. I ordered some LED load resistors and this should solve the problem

rings is a little off in size, good try tho, need a smaller one in the low beam and a larger one in the high beam.

When you say they pry open. Is that like dig some pry tools and spread th casing? I have moisture in my right lamp and would consider doing the repair this way.

Thanks bro, So I live in a duplex and share a big driveway in Santa Cruz, cali. That Graffitti van belongs to my neighbor, his name is Billy Rainbow. He's a cool old guy who loves to wear tie-dye shirts. He also seems to collect stuff, and that van is kinda like a storage locker for some of his collections of rarities, looks like junk to me. But not to him!
So it was here when I moved in. At first, I hated it! But he has this artist come by and repaint it every so often. I've grown to kinda like it, and it actually serves as a big fence and you can't see my car from the street.

The first time I opened them, it was nerve wracking. But it's actually really easy. Or you could just order a new one, they're only like 80$
I posted the you tube videos that I learned from in this thread, just scroll up.
But before baking, you just make sure you remove all rubber parts, all light bulbs, and all the screws in the housing.
Then bake 250 for 15 min, one at a time, then when you pry them open, you use a flat head screw driver. they come apart really easy. It's a lil messy, if the silicone gets on the plastic, it's hard to get off, but just use a microfiber cloth and 3 in 1 oil and that will rub the silicone off without scrating the plastic.
Since you have a leak somewhere, I would recomend getting Ultra Grey high-torque rtv silicone gasket maker
squirt that stuff into where the clear plastic lens inserts into the housing. apply generously, one 3.5 oz tube is just enough for one, make sure your lens is clean, then put it back together as tight as u can, rebake it, then push them together more when fresh out of the oven, put the screws back in, this tightens them more, make sure the little plastic tabs are secure and in place, you'll see what I'm talking about when you do it.

THANKS FOR YOUR INFORMATION!! random question. what product did you use to tint the tail lights? i just plasti dipped my rims and emblems and i like how easy it is to do.

You have to open up the lenses. I went over that earlier in this thread. It's an all day process to open them and then paint them black. I put the links to the you tube videos that I learned from in the beginning of this thread.
I painted the chrome housing black and I painted the the clear plastic covers inside of the lenses black that cover the DRL'S/blinkers/parking lights. I wouldn't recommend doing this unless you were going to add halos because then you would black out your blinkers. I wired the halos into my DRL'S so they act as my DRL'S and my blinkers. Looks Amazing!
