New Headlights

Hey,

A few quick questions. Low beam light just went out and I've been waiting for one to go out so I could replace them with a better bulb. I don't have great night vision so I wanted something brighter and possibly either whiter or a bluish tint. Anyone have any good suggestions on what kind of bulbs to replace it with?

Something bright!!

I like the Sylvania, Silver Stars. they are a good price and can find them all over and I have used them on 3 different cars all with great results.

Amazon.com: Sylvania 9005SU SilverStar Ultra High Performance Halogen Headlights, Pack of 2 Bulbs: Automotive

Sylvania has a new bulb out that is better than the Silverstars. It burns very hot and is similar to light output to a HID. I just put them in the other day ($50 bucks per pair, downside) and the light is incredibly bright and white. i think the life expectancy is only about a year, but it may be worth it for the better visibility...

I believe you're referring to the Sylvania XFE, which are slightly brighter than the Ultra's. I've got them myself for low/high beams.

If you want to spend the $ for some of the top brand halogens, you might want to even look into HID kits. Theyre cheap enough now ($40-$80) and are simple plug-n-play. 10,000K sounds like your color. Its super bright white with a blue tint. Others say its really heavy on blue, but mine are JLM HIDs: 9006 10000K, and they are white with a hint of blue.

They are a worthwhile investment if you want brightness and clarity at night.
