hey man. i really like the way your T4R turned out, looks awesome! i'm looking to do something similar to mine. how much did the lift cost ya?

Thanks, I got the lift from ToyTec. Great guys at that company and I will definitely be buying from them again. I ended up going with the OME shocks in the rear. Here is a link to the kit I bought.

IMO your 4runner looks great! Don't life the back anymore and give it that horrible stink bug look where the back end is higher than the front. Im very jealous of your set up

Thanks, I'm guessing you like the front higher because of desert offroading? I totally get that mind set and used to be into the truck thing, my taste are just changing. I am not looking for a huge rake, just an inch higher in the back would be nice, plus every time I put something back there I don't want it even lower.

So are you planning on lifting your 4Runner soon?

No I don't like the front end higher I just like it to look level. I have put a lot of weight in the back of my 4runner and it has never gone down in the back that I have seen but I have a 99 which I have read have the stiffest coils. Ya I am planning on it but I am looking for a set of Icon/Donahoe Coilvers and Camburg or Total Chaos Uniball upper arms. As for the rear I don't know what coils I am going to go with, probably old man emu and some icon piggyback reservoir shocks

Thanks for the compliments, It is nice to have an idea of what your 4runner will look like after you install something. Unless you are that guy who always has to be different and can fab up your own stuff. I'm years away from that so for now it it the tried and true.

Yeah I thought about that, I would rather not deal with spacers though. I am hoping to get some new wheels in the next couple of months that have a better backspacing. Or I just saw that Steve at Sonoran Steel has shaved UCA which would take care of the problem as well.

Looks like someones searching! From his first post when he rubbed the a arms he got lc rims that are 8" wide and have a little less back spacing so it helps eliminate rubbing with 285s.

Wow that is a thread I haven't looked at in a long time. It is funny seeing the 4runner with the stock bumper, wheels and no sliders.

Like the others mentioned I ended up switching to land cruiser wheels that have a little better backspacing and I shaved a little off the UCA's prior to getting those. They don't rub now.

The tires are still going strong. The only down side I have found with them is on icy roads, but most tires suck at that. I know some people have helped this by getting their tires siped, but I don't drive in the snow enough for that.

The lift is okay, the rear is too stiff for me even with weight back there. I would like to switch to land cruiser coils for a softer ride and slight increase in height.

That is the plan, just need to figure out if I need to replace my shocks, and if so which ones. My 4runner is further along than the pics in this thread, just check my build thread in my sig.

awesome looking ride. as far as more lift. . . the more you lift in the rear, and more rake you have, the more she'll wander on the highway....they are designed to run level. considerable difference when I changed out my LC rear coils and put the OME 891s on (with no rubber cone isolator on top)

Are you saying that a one inch rake will make it wander on the highway? I can't imagine it changing it that drastically. I have the OME 891's on the rear but don't like how stiff they are for normal driving, even with a load in the back. How many wraps were your LC coils?

Well it may not affect it as much w stiffer coils. Got mine lc coils from Sonoran steel. Just throwing out my experiences. I had them for 5 years before switching. Rake will also mess w your gas tank reading too. Pointed downhill you will always show less gas on te gauge.

I have pics on my build thread that you can get an idea from SoCal Build Thread The Land Cruiser wheels are 8" wide and have a slightly different backspacing than stock wheels. Also something to remember with tires is that each manufacture has slightly different specs even for the same size tire.
