New Limited and a ? re: running boards

Hello from TX! I just took delivery of my new 2010 Shoreline Blue Limited last week, and wanted to say thank you for all the info and tips/tricks found here. Thanks to this forum, I've ordered my Husky Weatherbeaters (delivered tomorrow), Mangowalk 3" stubby antenna along with AutoZone adapter, tinted my windows, and am still considering a cargo liner. I also read how to utilize the night mode on the NAV, something that would have taken much longer to figure out on my own. So thank you!

One question that has been bugging me though, and this may be a TX thing, my truck came with running boards, yet they were not listed on the sticker or invoice. I have read through post after post regarding others ordering them after market or even getting them from Toyota for $499. I can't possibly have just gotten lucky, doesn't happen to me. :) Any thoughts?

That is wierd. I hav'nt seen or heard of one around here with running boards so not a Texas thing.It's actually a Southeast Toyota regional thing.

So ,most likely they got it in a trade with a Southeast region dealer or it's something brand new to the Gulf states region that Texas is in.
My sales manager said they can and do trade out of region sometimes as I was asking about a third row one for someone on the forum. There wasn't any in the GS region.
Where did the sticker say it came into port?
 
Sticker says Port/Plant: Benicia CA at top left. Bottom right says Dealer Name as Toyota of Killeen. I bought it in Weatherford last week. I don't feel guilty because I did have to put up with the P3 package that I would not have chosen (Vehicle Shield Package Plus.)

Paid $300 over invoice which I thought was a fair deal. Did all dealing via email and phone, then went in to sign and pick it up.

Thanks for the replies! I guess maybe I did get lucky as I wanted the boards.

Strange.... as Texas 4Runners usually come into the Houston port, but all that matters is that you got lucky and are happy with it!
I hav'nt seen a blue or a red 2010 4Runner in person around here yet.

I wonder if someone else had them added and then backed out of the deal? Still seems strange that the dealer wouldn't add them to cute little "bonus sticker of stuff" they like to attach to the factory sticker.

Yeah I'm really shocked they didn't get accounted for $$$-wise on the sticker and invoice. Makes me feel better about paying $300 over invoice! :)
 
What other things did they charge you for besides TTL? doc fee? bs fee? was it the true invoice? I'm just trying to find myself a good deal also and would like to have all my ducks in a row.

I've been looking at all that--thanks though...I'm just wanting actual numbers from actual people. Those sites just show average data. I'm looking for the "diamond in the rough". I've already had quotes better than those sites.
 
Here's my actual invoice:

  • MFG BASE PRICE - 35024
  • TOTAL FACTORY OPTIONS - 672.82
  • DELIVERY/PROCESSING/HANDLING - 855
  • T.M.F - 995
  • T.A.F. - 0
  • 2% HOLDBACK MSRP - 796
  • PIO HOLDBACK - 63
  • 1% FINANCE RESERVE MSRP - 398
  • PRICING TOTALS - $40019

The corresponding MSRP was $43168. I should also note that "total factory options" include the following from the sticker: premium carpet mat set, cargo cross bars, and vehicle shield package plus.

Nowhere on the invoice or the sticker can I find anything regarding the running boards that came on the vehicle. So maybe I scored another $499?
