Hello everyone!

My name is Matt and I'm from Charleston, SC. Picked up my 1997 4Runner 4WD this past weekend. It has a little over 200,000 on the clock but runs really well.

This is my first "truck" as my only other vehicles I've ever owned were a 1996 Chevrolet Camaro Z-28 SS and a 2009 Pontiac G8 GT which unfortunately came to an unfortunate end a few weeks ago.

So far all I've done is remove a pair of tacky lights off the front bumper, but I have a long list of things I'd like to do. I plan on busting out the PlastiDip this afternoon and doing every last emblem and bit of faded trim on the vehicle, leaving only the chrome on the front and rear bumpers and running boards.

Anyways, here is the only picture I have of her so far. Hope to learn a lot and have a good time doing it!


Not sure what kind of lift is on it, but it says ToyTec on the front shocks and just looks like a simple block insert. Wheels are KMC XD somethings, but I can't find them on their website so they must be an old style. They're 16" with new 285/75R16 Cooper Discoverer AT/3's

So far, I'd like to do:

-Needs new exhaust, old one is badly rusted and leaking. Frame is clean as a whistle though.
-Timing belt, tensioners and water pump
-New radiator and fan shroud (shroud currently MIA)
-Flush and fill all fluids including oil/filter, fuel filter, Transmission, Differentials, etc.
-Plugs, wires and distributor
-Air and cabin filters
-Brakes we're done 8 months ago and feel good but I feel like they could use a bleed
-Engine bay needs a real good deep cleaning and the throttle feels very stiff past half way. May need an adjustment.

I'd also really appreciate an updated head unit and some halfway decent speakers, and a new drivers seat.
