New Member! New Problem :(

1996 4Runner SR5 V6 5 Speed

I'm glad to be apart of this awesome forum! My friend referred me to this website after i bought my Runner.

Ok so now my first problem. Coolant Leak
I'm losing coolant while the engine is off.
No Smoke when I do run it.
No puddle on the ground.
I took the skid plate off today to see, and I can't see anything abnormal.
Would a pressure tester help if i'm losing coolant while the engine isn't running?

Where are you located? Add it to your profile as it will affect the likely causes.

If you are in a rust state, I would say check your rear heater lines (search it). Is it completely draining with the engine off, or just partially?

Also, pull your tranny dipstick and see what the fluid looks like. Search pink milkshake for that possible cause (this one's bad).

Like NelsonMD said, if you have the rear heater, check the lines for they may be rusted out and leaking.

If you don't know the history of the 4runner, check the WP for leakage.

Given you have the 5speed, don't worry about the pink milkshake.
