New Member - picked up an 14 Limited today

So. 2 dogs and a new baby here and the SRT8 Grand Cherokee wasn't meeting our needs any longer. Have always wanted a 4Runner and I think this will fit in nicely. It's definitely slower but that was to be expected. I think this is a lot of car for the money.

Mods planned immediately.

Some kind of A/M filter, weather techs, and maybe that's it. It's my wife's truck and if anything it will get TRD wheels and some beefier tires. Looking forward to learning a lot here.

I chose to go with 265/70-17's on the wife's Limited but not the TRD wheels. I ended up going with Method Standards.

hmmm, am I missing something? how does a SRT GC not meet your needs but a 4Runner can? they are pretty much the same vehicle, unless your having too many issues with the GC.

I mean its great you switched but there must be more to the story or if I am asking to much just tell me to STFU !!!!.

I actually see the GC as being much smaller than a 5th gen t4r. It's also obviously a hot rod SUV with much better road manners in aggressive situations.

The tr4 is more of a tank. Being a tank is a good and a bad thing, depending on what you plan to do with it.

Cargo space is noticeably larger with the Toyota. The T4R is cavernous in comparison .

I read somewhere the 4Runner has 25% more cargo space than the JGC.

Having traded one in for my Ltd, and recently returning from a weekend fishing trip, it's definitely considerably bigger. My friends even commented. Interestingly, even though the car feels bigger in most every way, I find the visibility to be much better.

Hemi - more gas
Trunk - larger on T4R
Brakes - 2g on GC
Rear window goes down for dogs
Less on insurance
7 year warranty as opposed to 1 year left on GC

Lots of little things...

Things my wife is already complaining about:
1. No blind spot warning... felt like it had it, it doesn't
2. TPMS doesn't tell you WHICH tire is low and what the pressure is in each tire
3. Side view mirrors don't go down to show curb view when in Reverse

No other complaints thus far. I do notice myself complying with the speed limit and not minding. In the Jeep, I always was speeding.
