A new set of Mickey Thompson MTZ LT 265/70R17E (plus a spare):





I think they look sharp, even on the stock suspension. No rubbing. Waiting for the components to come in for the icon low lift suspension and the BAMF Sliders/Shockworks TE rocker panels....

I'm still playing with air pressure right now, just got them up to 44psi and they are still riding pretty nice. They are stiffer than the factory tires, but not unpleasant at all. This is my second set of MTZ's (have some on my Tacoma also) and the highway performance is better than any MT tires (and most AT tires) I have tried so far. There is a noticeable increase in highway noise, but it's not anything unpleasant or excessive. You don't have raise your voice to have a conversation when cruising at highway speeds - just a little background drone.

I shot a quick video so you might get an idea of the tire noise. Audio like this in any vehicle always sounds noisy, particularly with nothing to compare the relative noise. After I get the cruise control set at 70mph I turned the radio on at low volume (volume level 5, factory radio) so you have something to compare to.

I know a lot of people who run MTZs and they've all been happy with them. Very capable off road tire too.

I'm running MT STZs because I was weary of the noise and ride where I do a lot of highway driving... Love the tires, but a friend just put the MTZs on his new Silverado and it drives great and looks amazing. I'm a little jeleous... He finds them no noisier the his BFG A/Ts on his ram he traded.

I was very surprised at how quiet they were when I put them on my Tacoma! I got the tires on the 4Runner swapped when my wife was away on a trip. She was very tired when I picker her up at the airport (long trip). On the ride home down I-10 she said "I thought you were going to get the tires put on my truck?"
