New ProComp 7089's and tires!! +laminx

i think if you get a matte paint for the rest of the emblems and its a good all weather paint you might be able to get away without a clear coat. kinda like powder coat type of paint.
 
I love how i type a post and when i try to post the file is too large and i hit back and everything i typed is gone!:cannon: lol , anyway ill post that head-on pic tomorrow, sorry ive been workin a lot. i gotta pay off those rims haha!, So good news, sorta... 2 of the 4 trd caps came in, i havn't picked them up cause once again ive been working too hard but ill probably get the other 2 next week (i hope) but ya i think those will look way better than the procomp center caps, a little off topic for the next (big) mod i think. ive been researching this grill idea and i found a couple of guys with taco's that did it, i cant find the insert they bought for the Runner but im sure if i did deeper search i can find something, but here are a couple of ideas, basicly just different badges. but ya im excited, im gonna go to a junk yard tomorrow and see if i can find a broken 4runner that i can experiment on. but ya here are some pics. good stuff! ive got the mod bug bad!!

ya ill get a pic of the front for you did you want the lights on? or just a straight forward pic? it may a little bit before i can get it cause i useually work dusk to dark, but ill get it when i get a chance. but ya i like the laminx better than the JDM look, i seriously made my pitted faded blinkers look brand new! and ya its way cheaper.

so ya the corners look a little dim but i think i brighter bulb will change that, im still running the stock bulbs so there ya are

is that mesh grill metal or is it plastic? i like it woven togther a little closer but ya that looks pretty nice actually, My plan is to find a 01 to 02 4runner grill somewhere and instead of messing up mine i can play with another one. i was looking at my grill and it looks like it could be pretty tough but we'll see it should be pretty fun. but thanks its good to know there are options out there, what site did you find that at?
 
center caps

so i thought i was mechanicly inclined kinda till i painted my brake drums. The center caps, how in the world do you get them off? im gonna be getting different ones soon. All that comes off is the little procomp disc on top, then the big black cylinder thing seems like its welded in there, so anyone know how those things come off?
 
All the red on this Tacoma Sport is tacky.

Everything blacked out is nice...should have left everything black, shaved the emblems on the door & remote the sticker on the rear quarter panel.
 
ya i kinda feel the same way, all the emblems being that red is a little over board i think. When i get around to painting mine i may just do the sr5 in red and the rest in black i dont know. haha
 
i amsuming you mean the ones on the taco? if so those are the stock fj or 4runner rims (im not sure wich one.) but they are painted black and then they have the fj SE trd center caps.

I meant the procomp from the first post
 
yeah, you got it They are the procomp 7089's. Im not a huge fan of the center caps sticking out so much but ya i love them other than that! I ordered those TRD caps that are on the tacoma above so hopefully they fit! haha but ya i can deal with the stock ones if they dont work out. but thanks for your complement
 
trd center caps

i posted a thread in general discusions on this but im just trying to get as much input as i can, So after 2 long months of waiting my center caps finally came in, however after looking things over im kinda gettin worried. Is there any way possible to get these on my wheels? please say yes! as most of you know ive been dreaming about the actual trd wheel but those dreams are too far to reach for me so anyway hear are some pics, let me know what yall think. thanks!

Whoa whoa whoa, back up for 2 seconds. The dealership was charging $350 for black pearl emblems before they discontinued them? :jaw drop: That is absolutely outrageous! You can easily paint them yourself for less than $10. Dunno why anyone would ever pay that much money for just a piece of plastic that they can paint themselves. I'm not skilled in much of anything ;): and I had an easy enough time doing mine.
