New Quicksand TRD Pro is on its way

Congratulations. Not sure why but that is my favorite color.

If you don't mind my asking....what prompted you to get the Pro?

My desert racing days are long behind me. This will be my DD, and when we play, we go to the desert - Mostly sand and gravel, ruts and washboard, nothing too hard core. The light (but sufficient) mods, combined with factory warranty, are why I went with the Pro.

No, it is ONLY supply and demand. If the supply is low and the demand is high, people will pay a premium regardless of the attitudes of the salesmen. You simply went to a place where the supply and the demand is equal. If everyone wanted a TRD PRO at the place you bought yours the prices would be the same as Cali and the salesmen would be just as bad.

I wanted the Pro, but I didn't need it so bad that I would buy from a jerk. I probably would have paid the $2k over and stopped looking if the CA dealers treated their prospective customers better.

Amen to that. That kind of treatment just rankles the shite out of me. I don't need my arse kissed, but I will be treated politely and with some degree of respect or I'll just move on. (Kinda why my wife doesn't have that IS350 she wanted).

That is what I thought. Tell us how you know that supply and demand is working here? Someone who can turn a wrench thinks that what the are told in school is true. It is not that simple. Their are too many crooks in Govt and big business making great bedfellows.

Thats what I said too. The first mod is a gateway drug. Before I knew it, I was sneaking off to Demello's to get my fix and spending long nights in a room lit only by the dull gray blue glow of the monitor as I cruised 4Runner porn on T4R.org.

Update

The paper work is all signed, but I'm still waiting for a shipping date. When I first contacted the dealer, I got an online shipping quote of $1,600 and negotiated with them for $800 under MSRP (dealer is in MT, I'm in CA). In the end, the dealer arranged shipping for $800, so I basically get it delivered to my home for right at sticker, and it's worth the wait. Hopefully it will be here in another week +/-.

Nice. I'm in SFBay and couldn't find a TRDP under $47k... Gave up and bought a Trail. Happy with it but the TRDP would have been nice. Good find and congrats!!

Same here. 4 months ago the average asking price in CA was $5K over asking and there were only a handful of TRD Pros on the ground (see: SUPPLY AND DEMAND). I spoke with dealers in AZ, CO and LV and they were better...but not much. $2-$3k over MSRP.

In the end I ended up with a TEP for $2K under MSRP which in the end will serve me well since virtually all my recent mods would've replaced everything that drives the TRD MSRP.
