New SR5 and new message board

Just wanted to say hi to everyone on here. After having the same Civic for nine years (since high school!) I finally bought a new car this weekend. 06 SR5 black/stone. I couldn't be happier w/ the car. I ordered Zaino today and will Zaino this weekend. No garage so I have to do all that I can to keep the black looking good.

So, it's great to have the Toyota and great to have a new message board to learn about this car.

Now I have to persuade the fiance to let me start modding...

Welcome to the board. It sounds like you have a nice rig. I saw 2 days ago that we were going to have snow this Friday in Atlanta, now I find the snow forecast has dissapeared. It would of been a good test for your 4Runner.

Be sure to put some pics up.

I've only been here a few weeks and am learning tons of info from all the great people on this site. It's a wealth of information.

Zaino is the absolute best. I swear by it. Keep in mind that in lower temperatures it can take MUCH longer to dry.

Congrats on the new ride - a bit of a step up from the Civic?

You could start with a few less expensive mods like adding bulbs to the lower bumper lights (reflectors). Also know as the reflector mod.

I started with window tint. but thats not as cheep.
 
It's been a HUGE upgrade from the Civic. I smile everytime I walk up to it, grin while I'm driving it, and smile as I get out. I couldn't be happier (well, maybe if it was 4x4...).

I will take pics and post them after I wash and Zaino this weekend. It's going to be ~ 45' so hopefully that's okay.


The back windows are already tinted, but I think I'm going to go ahead and get the front two tinted as well.

He can't do this. His '06 doesn't have them.

But there are lots of other items. Search the site. Don't forget a spare tire lock (cheap insurance.) Good luck with the ride!
 
I've talked it over w/ the woman and she gave me the green light on aftermarket Navi. After doing a little research it looks like the Eclipse AVN5435 is the way to go, although I want to do much more before pulling the trigger.

On a side note, how long does the door ding paranoia typically last? I have it pretty bad....

Yeah, I got one of those too.
You learn to get sneaky after awhile, pretty soon it's... Oh, when did you get this? or when did you do that?

My boss doesn't know anything about cars, so I think it would be really easy to get away with too. Apparantly they all "just look the same" to her.
