New Tires

Just got rid of the OEM Bridgestones and picked up some Cooper Discoverer ATR's (265/70R17). I love the looks of them and so far haven't really noticed too much fuel efficiency loss. Maybe .1-.3mpg fairly negligible. The performance reviews on Discount Tire were great and the tire was only $153 per.

I hope we get some snow here in Oklahoma this year!

Nice looking tire! I have been hearing good reviews of this tire. I have also been looking at the Cooper S/T Maxx.

Those look pretty bad a$$. I just looked them up on Discount Tire and they don't have them in 17" rims for some reason. They don't have any reviews on them either... but I'm curious to see how they turn out!

They are great in rain and we'll see how they work in our upstate NY snow

I used up a set of these tires

I have a Suburban 1500 4x4 for the Family. I ran these tires and they worked very well in all conditions. Rain here in the Pacific NW along with miled snow conditions, wet snow. My tire size is 285 60R18. Got 40k out of them realistically, if it was May, I would run em through the summer but they have lost all traction under Winter conditions. I have decided to go another direction this go around, Falken Rocky Mountains. I felt like the Coopers wore a little quick to my liking but they performed very well. The Suburban is quite a bit heavier of a rig too, which more than likely helped speed up the wear time.

I'm pretty sure that the ATR's are no longer made. I have 4000 miles on my AT3's (LT265/70/17, 6 ply) and they still look like new. I had them balanced 3 times, and the last time was with a Road Force Balancer, which took away ALL of the steering wheel shimmy, and butt on seat shake. Thank Goodness for this forum !

See that your in SWPA...where did you get yours and who had the balancer?

I bought the tires from Marsh Tire, but they couldn't balance them for crap. My local Toyota Dealer (Day, Pleasant Hills) balanced them and put 20 ounces of wheel weights on 1 rim, and the other 3 had between 8-10 ounces per rim, and it shook worse than how Marsh balanced them. I finaly went to Bruce Brothers in South Park, they have a Road Force balancer, and now it rides perfect. They only charged me $15 per wheel/tire to balance, and I couldn't be happier. When the AT3's wear out, I will be buying whatever Bruce Bros sells in a LT/6-ply. They will definately get my business from now on. They know what they are doing.
