new tires

90 t4r

New member
ok so i recently bought a 90 4runner 3.0 v6 with a manual trans. wat im wondering is what the max size tires i can run without having to regear. currently it has 31 10.50 r15 but they are dry rotted hence the new ones. money is tight right now so im trying to find a good set of tires that wont look bad on this runner even after its lifted (sits bone stock for now planning on doing a lift when i get the cash saved up) been looking at some bfg 33 10.50 15 km2s any help and/or input will be greatly appreciated.

33 inch = 4.88 gears
32 inch = 4.30 gears
31 inch = 4.10 gears

You can get the 33 and run your stock 4.10 ratio but you WILL end up breaking things and costing yourself more money in the long run.

i didnt say you have 4.10's you wanted to know tire size compared to gear ratio. read the link it will tell you were to find your gear ratio.

thanks truck is in the shop right now so ill check as soon as i get it back

I have a 1990 V6 with a 5 speed - my code is G294. 8" 4.10 gears with 4 pinions. I run 31 X 10.5 X 15 and the truck has a great stance. It won't be quick off the line (I could put 205 60R15's on it and it wouldn't be quick off the line - it's a 3.0) but it easily keeps up with traffic and I'm turning about 3K at 75-76 MPH. More than enough.

does ur rear have any sag mine has a lil bit and i would like to bring it back to stock stance without breaking the bank, as i want to put a lift on it in the next year or so. so a want it to be level till i do get my lift, for as cheap as possible since wat ever i do wont be on there long. even used springs if anyone has any for sell:lol:
