New to Denver looking for info

My wife and I took jobs in Denver and will be moved in, in about 2 weeks. My truck is a 3rd gen 4x4 with rear locker but completely stock because all mods so far have been preventative maintenance items. I'm looking for resources (web, map, books, etc) to help me start learning the lay of the land and places to explore. Obviously I cant do any serious wheeling with my truck equipped stock so I'm looking for some easy trails to at least start exploring a little. I'll be living on the NW side of Littleton. I'd like to find some spots that are close by so I can get quick random trips in and then also maybe some a little further out for the weekends and what not.

Also looking for some info and resources on Mountain Biking trails.

Trail Damage is probably the best website for trail info and locations.

The FunTreks guidebooks have some awesome info as well. You can usually find them in most bookstores around here but ToyTec sells them as well.

I would join some local forums like RM4x4.org and colorado4x4.org. Also keep and eye on the Colorado sections of Tacomaworld.com and TTORA.com

the 4Wheel staging area lists upcoming trail runs and the trip reports lists completed trips.

You don't need to be a member to hang with us and we are made up of landcruisers, FJ Cruisers, 4runners, min-trucks and even a couple of Tundras

It is always better to offroad with at least one other vehicle. It is easy to slip on a trail and need a strap, it happens to all of us. Our club has never left anyone or their rig behind. I have been involved in situations where some stay to help tear down the vehicle while others go back to town to get parts and return in the middle of the night to button up and get home.

Our meetings are the first Wednesday of every month at Stevenson Toyota West off of 6th Ave and Indiana.

Since this is my first post here, I have owned two FJ40's, an 80 series Land Cruiszers, an 100 series landcruisers a rd gen 4runner and a 4th gen 4runner

My daughter had a 1999 3rd gen for 7 years and we built it up with front and rear bumpers and wheeled all over Colorado, Utah and S Dakota along with my other daughter who has a landcruiser.

A year ago she sold her 4runner to buy a Scion Tc for the better gas mileage. She has since regretted that so we are selling her Scion and just bought a 2002 Limited. Came on here looking at Slider and rear bumper options

And this was her old one. Funny, both daughters could outwheel most guys in the club. I taught them both when they were 14 and now they are in their mid 20's

I know several other members have 2nd and 3rd gens that I don't have pictures of. The majority of members drive landcruisers (40's, 60's, 80's or 100's) but a significant amount drive 4runners, not to mention minitrucks, Tundras and FJ Cruisers
