New to forum with some questions.

Hello all, my name is Daniel. Last month I bought 2010 4runner sr5 4x4. I've got a toytec/bilstein lift and 33" tires. I've notice my performance is a bit lacking. I've got a KN filter but was thinking of getting the complete TRD intake and wondered what anyone thought it had any ideas. Also when I had my 04 Tacoma 3.4 I ran a dynomax superturbo with great results. How does the 4.0 react to aftermarket mufflers? And thirdly, the dealer or previous owner used some type of perfume or air fresh dr I can't seem to shake. I've tried fabreeze, bowls of vinegar, windows down to air out etc. It has all helped but I just can't get it all out. Any help would be great. Thanks.

Please take this advice the right way:
If you want performance, you bought the wrong vehicle. Buy a Corvette.
If you want better performance out of the 4Runner, ditch the 33's or regear.
If you want to keep the 33's and waste money, then get a new CAI and exhaust because while you might eek out a few HP (like maybe 2) you won't feel it under normal operating conditions.
No supercharger is available and nobody has put a turbo on yet.

Best solution for performance: Drop it down, get stock size tires and lose vehicle weight, do't expect to add weight with no changes.

Now my biggest question is about the smell. I have sensitive sinuses so I'm hoping someone has an ideas on how to eliminate odors.

Put stickers on it, then head to Pep boys and get some stick on vents. I hear those work really well.

dump a bag of charcoal (plain; not the stuff with the starter fluid) in a pail/bucket/trug tub and leave it in the truck with the windows up whenever you're not using it. it'll absorb whatever stuff is in the air that's bugging you.

Ok so the charcoal worked pretty good. Still a slight hint of perfume but mostly gone.

Arm and Hammer baking soda. Sprinkle some in your carpets and maybe over your seats (cloth?), and let it sit for a couple or 3 days. Then vacuum it out.

I love the charcoal method. Works great! No one ever believes me when I tell them to do that.

I think what batman is trying to say is that our trucks engine has been well designed and is efficient enough at this point that those things just don't help as much as they used to in past models. There is a slight possibility a supercharger could happen but folks have been speculating for awhile so don't hold your breath. Those with built trucks have regeared to help but in the end, she's got some meat on her bones, it's no Porsche.

Have you located the smell? Maybe the old owner spilt a bottle of perfume or something. If it's in a small section of the carpet, it might be a ton easier to get rid of rather than using an all encompassing method. Try asking the previous owner...
