New to Me - 2000 SR5 Sport 5-speed

I am lucky, been shopping hard for a week or 2 now. I was always tail-end Charlie, late on 4 or 5 trucks by a couple of hours or a day. I went to the dealership to look at something else and the salesman says to me "I've got what you're looking for, I hid it in the back".
We're walking back to the truck, the salesman had parked it behind a tree, a Highlander, and a Tundra in the back corner. My sister sees it, runs up to it and says "You're buying this one!".
It has 118,000 miles on it. Very clean interior, minimal door dings and stuff.

That's awesome man. People search for months to find that exact truck. 2000 5speed with 118k? Very hard to find. Make us proud on the forum! LOL

There is no locker on this one darn it, that would have been an AWESOME score.
Didn't pass emissions so back to the dealer it goes, in CO the dealer has to make it pass emissions. It failed on NOX, my mech says cat converter, I've read that it could be EGR, MAF, O2 so who knows. I'll report the fix when I know what it is.
I'm liking this truck though, fun to drive, alot smaller than my 2003 F250 Supercab. It is not as fast as the '05 WRX I sold to put me in a position to buy the 4Runner. 4Runner is way more useful than a speedy little car.
I'm waiting for some trails to clear up (late next spring) and take her out. Then I'll get an idea of what I want to do.

Oddly enough, 5-speed/Sports with the locker were pretty rare in 2000.
I have a document stating January 2000 production mix figures (when I was shopping for my first 4Runner, a green Limited)...
40% of SR5 5-speeds had the Sport Package, but 0% had the Sport Package with the locker. By comparison, 15% of SR5 autos were Sport and 20% of SR5 autos were Sport/locker.
But 15% of SR5s with the stick were ordered with Package 6, which was basically a loaded SR5 with 16" wheels, power package, sports seats and the locker. No painted bumpers/flares or hood scoop, though.
Hopefully that makes some sense. That's just for January 2000 production, but I imagine it's at least somewhat applicable to the rest of MY2000.

Actually I live in the bay area, which next to Alaska is one of the most expensive places to live. I frequently see them going for 12 grand. I just happened to luck out and get it from a friend but it needs a lot of the 90k maintenance done already got tb/wp done.

I learned a few things reading this site, I'll do gears before I lift it and get bigger tires. Gotta have a good plan and do things in the right order.
